I like the direction by Gerd Oswald in this episode. And it stands to reason since Gerd directed many of the original Outer Limits episodes that had such distinguishing qualities. Outside of that though, "The Beacon" doesn't have much going for it. "The Beacon" is actually one of the few things that I've ever seen Martin Landau in that he didn't astonish me. It was also very easy to see what was going to happen to the stranded doctor.
