Rod Serling's introduction is terrific and leaves me with the feeling that they believed they had a special story here. I love the way Rod walks into the opening scene and says, "A woman about to face terror, which is even now, coming at her from [looks skyward]...the Twilight Zone". Rod then turns toward the woman and backs away. His cigarette smoke fades from the shot and it's on with the story. Awesome!
There is no question that "The Invaders" is absolutely classic and innovative television. A rating of "10" is a necessity.
This is such a great episode. Mostly without dialogue, it's quite scary (tiny alien invaders with big knives). The ending twist was a bit disappointing though, because it had been already used in a previous episode.
