While most of the cast struggles to convey the depth of their characters, Mychala Lee's portrayal stands out for its glaring inability to authentically depict even the most fundamental emotions required for her role. This critical shortcoming undermines the show's potential, leaving much to be desired for fans of the original work.
I recommend The Magicians instead.

All the fantasy has gone and thos was in my own opinion an alternative take on the novels II enjoyed reading to my sons and the last film.
If you loved the book and the past film give this a miss.
The constant mumbling about unrelated issues and absolute lack of fantasy had me to stop watching in the middle of the first episode. The only thing I can be thankful for is that I wasted relatively little time on this train wreck. Hope this comment helps you avoid wasting your time as well.

I do not like being negative but, This was really not very good. The Jared character is extremely unlikable. If it only stopped there. . . but it doesn't. Most of the characters are unlikable and overacted (or just poorly acted) as well.
This is the first show I kind of hope does not come back with a second season.
I did like the visuals - the cinematography.
