This felt like it was written rather in 1985 than in 2015 and obviously by a man.

Pretty weak stuff, even for post-classic Simpsons. This had all the trademarks of the Scully years at the beginning -- weird rhythms to the gags, strange story progression that jettisons one plot for another, and odd characterizations from shoehorned in secondary characters.

I appreciated both plots in principle. Lisa trying to clear the name of a female inventor and Marge and Homer worrying that Bart is a sociopath both work at a pitch-level, but the execution was disjointed and off for both stories, which was hurt by the fact that while they started from a common point, they didn't really compliment each other. It seemed more like they were two distinct tales spackled together than a pair of stories that worked well in concert, in tone, if not in subject.

It was also a mostly laughless half hour. Things picked up a bit in the third act, and the conclusion to Bart's story with its Ender's Game riff had a bit of both spark and heart, but it was mostly too little too late.
