Another good episode in what's been a surprisingly good season so far. A lot of the ground tread here, (Bart competes with Skinner, Lisa gets popular) has been tread before, but that's pretty inevitable for a show rounding out its third decade. While it was a bit contrived, I did like Bart's love triangle, and his ultimate resolution of helping Skinner out, even if the status quo devotion means it's not meant to last. Vergara was surprisingly game as the new teach. And Lisa's storyline was a pleasant one as well, with a nice reminder that both the Simpsons' offspring can go against their usual personalities in interesting ways when presented with certain incentives. There were some odd little quirks (Bart's mustache looked really weird, kind of like a skin growth), but the humor was on point for the episode and there's a devotion to story and character that makes a good Simpsons episode hum even when not everything is clicking. Thoroughly pleasant.

La-Z Rider starring Bryan Cranston as Ned Flanders.

They should make a whole episode like the opening sequence. That looked awesome.
