[6/10] This one’s fine, albeit lacking in laughs. Mining Bart’s frustrating over realizing his TV idol doesn’t live up to his dreams when he meets Krusty in real life is a good setup, but the short doesn’t do all that much with it. Still, we get the first appearance of Krusty, who’s totally recognizable in both look and voice to his full series counterpart, and our first “I’m Bart Simpson; who the hell are you?” so that’s something! Plus there’s shades of Bart’s discount Krusty detection skills from “Camp Krusty.” Once again, a lot of these shorts are more interesting as embryonic versions of later bits from the show, but still have their charm.
