I had always been under the impression that Mackey and the strike team predated Aceveda and had been operating for a year or two before Aceveda became captain of The Barn and began trying to shut Mackey down. I don't buy that Julien and Danny have been working together as long as the strike team or Dutch and Claudette. All of those relationships feel like they have very different ages in the main show so there is no way they all met each other for the first time on the same day.

I don't see the point of this episode and it messes with the actual pilot timeline-wise. I believe a better flashback episode could have been done.
