Usually love this show! But this was the worst episode so far!
Ugh. What a terrible episode and waste of time. The writers were trying too hard to connect together things from previous seasons and episodes into one cohesive storyline. It doesn't work. It feels very forced.
Usually love this show, but this episode was a waste of time.
The only good thing about this episode is we found out why Jackson and Sterling aren’t together anymore. Also, why would Nyla agree to do a documentary as a former undercover cop? Seems dangerous to me.
hated the format of this episode.
Did the writers give up on the show themselves at this point?
Obviously this type of episode is used if the budget is tight.
So either the previous episodes were too expensive, or the next episodes must improve.
Given what this season has been so far, I am somewhat sceptical about the direction they try to go here.
This episode is a total waste, though and quite absurd. Unbelievable and very, very boring.
Utterly boring, I just let it play while I did something else...
Great episode, really enjoyed it!
congrats on making the worst episode of 3 seasons
I have to agree to most here, such a bad episode.
For such an odd episode I actually found it charming. Frankie Muniz of course is perfectly cast. It's not that police shows shouldn't get political it's just that they all suck at it. They bring up topics but don't relay them to anything. Theyll forget about them from one scene to the next. There's so little dramatic tension regarding them. But here, all the foreshadowing worked here. The layering of the narratives complimented each other here. This episode just works in a way that a lot of previous episodes didn't. Which is unfortunate in a way. The Rookie at least has tried to do mouth service to a lot of really important issues. I just knew they were going to throw everything at the wall and hope something sticks when they could have just picked 1-2 maybe three issues and done a decent arc on them from a systemic perspective rather than a hyper individualistic one. The irony is that while he gets no respect Ashmore's lawyer character is one of the best people on this show for that reason among others. He recognizes systemic issues but he's still dating a cop. I don't know who is in charge of writing him but they usually do a very good job small though his role is.
Ok, wow, this was so incredibly stupid! Oh, and good luck with your future in undercover work from now on then, Lucy (and Harper).
Yeah, about 20 minutes in, I just skipped this episode. I did not like the documentary feel. The guest stars were neat to see. I would've never expected Rainn Wilson to be in an episode of the Rookie! And Frankie was a good casting choice but the whole episode just felt forced and out of place.
I love that they were trying something new and they looped around to the wacko cult. But I also see why people don't like this episode. It is definitely out of character for the show. Even for this 3rd season that isn't as fun as the previous seasons. This episode just doesn't fit well with the story telling of the rest of the series. It really feels like a filler episode because the writers don't know how to continue the story with Doug. This is what you get for making story arcs instead of independent episodes.
I hope the episodes are back to normal when they get back... this one was trash
And now it makes sense why this specific episode aired on a different night.

The only good thing about this episode was Rainn.
