Wow I wasn't ready for this episode!!! I'm in tears again...
First I was like "Oh cool, Dr. Flox. I like Dr. Flox." Then I was like "Oh hell no, not Dr. Flox, that's messed up!!"
I disagree - it was preachy , they hung out the Baby doctor to dry crazy fast with no evidence only allegations - love to see him sue Pravesh`s ass off. also what about the shooting - no background - if they dont return to the shooting in a future episode it will be very bad writing
at the end the footage of the real woman that the episode was dedicated to was very moving

God! This episode left me in tears.:cry: It started like normal, but then after watching many episodes of the show, I should have expected a heart-wrenching story. It was unexpected, and it was for a good cause.
This was an amazing episode. I generally cry with this show but for this episode, I bawled my eyes out and then after viewing proceeded to cry even more discussing it with my S.O.
This is one of the better episodes, aside from the heartbreaking start and the rollercoaster you're taken on next. Get your tissues ready people!
In the beginning of the episode that excruciatingly difficult and painful for Conrad to say and do what he did but he needed to, good for him. Nic needed to be reminded that Conrad is not wrapped around her finger and she can lose him as well if she keeps keeping him at arms length and not getting anywhere.
Wow, that was heartbreaking, I hope that things have drastically improved by now, and if not then they need to do a lot more and come up with much better safeguards for the patients.
I appreciate the swerve here, making out to be focusing on one kind of issue, while turning out to be tackling another. Which just goes to show what a messed-up life health care providers in the U.S. lead, having to deal with all the same things medical professionals in every other "peaceful" country have to, with the added pressure of regular gun violence. I appreciate the heck out of The Resident for daring to make this episode, for not being afraid to come off as preachy, for not being afraid to take a stand.
This was an INCREDIBLE episode, however, there are two flaws I really want to address:
I would have loved to have had more info on the shooter - I know this isn't a police procedural show, but you'd think since Nic was a witness, there'd at least be police presence and her being questioned on the entire situation ???
The argument with Conrad and Nic at the beginning made the episode and its meaning feel much more weak, at least for me. Despite how hard-hitting that ending was, it's hard to get over the fact that there was just this entire block of relationship drama for the first 5 minutes... Just doesn't really sit right, doesn't mesh with the pace and overall narrative to an otherwise spectacular episode.
Other than that, it was well-written and definitely one of the best of the series so far.
The only bad thing about this episode was the dumb, unnecessary relationship drama in the beginning.How is it possible that very woman in a relationship in this show has commitment issues?

Very very few shows can pull of a "ripped from the headlines" episode without coming off as preachy. This episode of The Resident accomplished exactly what it set out to do: deliver a poignant and sobering message in a way that made the message deeply moving and food for thought. Well done. Also, please pass the tissues.
