The Recruit 2022

:heart:x7
I figured this would be a run-of-the-mill spy show. It's not. The main character, Owen, has a knack for getting himself into and back out of situations. Centineo plays this character very well. He's very believable as a young, naive, wide-eyed, sunny-side up type of CIA recruit.
Overall the storyline is better and more entertaining than any of theJack Ryan seasons.

How I rate:
1-3  = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6  = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8  = I expect you will like this too
9-10  = movies and TV shows I really love!

This series season 1 is absolutely superb. The humor is sarcastic to the max in a way that it's almost a comedy. But never getting there. It's extremely well done. It's lovely unrealistic, never gets too serious and yet manages to captivate you into binge watching the whole thing.
Can't wait for season 2.

Overall it was a good show. I liked the way he utilized wit and fast talking to get out of random situations. The action and story were good and kept the show moving forward.

My main complaint is about the ending. Of all streaming networks, why doesn't Netflix actually end a series with an actual ending? The way they cancel shows this one may end up with a cliffhanger that never gets finished which would be a big disappointment. They could have easily finished up this part of the story in a different way to put a cap on the 1st season.

I want to like this show. The season was up and down with the finale being extremely underwhelming. If The Recuit gets pick up for another season I’ll watch. But if Netflix cancels it I won’t be surprised or bothered by that decision.

Surprised at how witty and fun it is. Fun spy stuff like Get Smart and Chuck are a nice departure from more serious Jack Ryan type shows. It is definitely geared toward younger viewers but not over the top. I hope people watch it he series all the way through because that is the biggest metic that Netflix follows and how they evaluate shows for renewal.

An amusing, light-hearted show that reminded me of a mix of White Collar and The Diplomat .
Absurd and cynical, but also empathic and relatable at times.
However, the Season 1 finale was a serious letdown.

Exceptional series IMO with nothing really to fault. Great cast, great acting and a great story with a refreshing and novel take on an espionage series. Brilliant mix of serious along with occasional snippets of humour, but appropriate not stupid humour. Only 3 months in but defintely the best series I've watched so fart this year (2023) and, if I was to wind 2023 and 2022 up together, would be in the top 5 of shows I watched last year too. text Looking forward to a season 2.

Absolutely terrible show. Acting is horrible, the plot is extremely stupid and unbelievable.

Where is Season 2???? (no irony question).

I found it to be a bit too juvenile and over the top to the point that I couldn’t wait for it to end. Any longer than 8 episodes and I would probably have given up. I think it’s probably aimed at a younger audience.

I hope in the real world our agents get better training than this poor schmo. It's entertaining. Well written. Holds my attention. I look forward to the next episode.

I didn't expect this to be Chuck 2.0 but it's amazing! Chuck was the best show ever made and reinvented the spy dramady genre. Give this a few seasons and we have a new contender!

Black Adam let more of an impression, and Black Adam is not a high benchmark at all.
