This episode was not what I expected it to be.
Overall I'm impressed by the show and look forward to Season 2.
Things have gotten intense, my mouth is still open. Jennifer and Reese are amazing
Great first season and breathtaking season finale. Can't wait for Season 2.
What an ending episode. I'm thrilled about what will happen next season and how TMS will move on from Mitch's scandal.
Honestly, the strongest moments in this show come when Alex loses her shit and just speaks from her heart.
Hannah's suicide was forseeable. I actually expected Chip to run into a car as well...
Just as heavy-handed as the entire season.
Is it just me, or was that ending a little bit forced and overdramatic?
Absolutely incredible piece of television. So many memorable moments, incredible acting, and a really well done emotionally powerful episode. It's so good that even one of the least important scenes, a moment where Yanko explains the meaning of El Nino, is incredibly well done and had me really impressed with his acting, and it only got more and more incredible from there.
Damn. I hate and love this episode. There were two powerful scenes - Hannah's interview and moment of truth so to speak. Ones raw and awfully realistic and the second one almost a power fantasy. Both were done nearly perfect. And sadly they clash with each other too much they should have being in separate episodes.
But overall it's a great show. Two actors stood out for me in particular - Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Hannah) and Mark Duplass (Chip).
Great season and a great show so far. Poor Hannah feeling so affected by the situation that she took, one assumes deliberately, her own life.
There are many characters on ALL sides who share a portion of the blame
Much of the criticism of this show revolves around the all-over-the-place direction. Is it a comedy? Me-Too commentary? Drama? Whatever it is supposed to be it never I just never felt that invested in the characters or the drama. And if you don't feel invested in the characters or the drama then this episode is going to feel empty and the heightened attempt at drama is going to be unearned. Since this series is semi-based in real life events they had 3/4 of the drama already spelled out for them. Despite the amazing cast they did little to move it forward.
I don't think the final five minutes were that surprising - they essentially ripped off the movie Network. I can't imagine what season 2 is going to bring as they've already chased off most of the bad guys and absolved the others. In that sense the me-too portion of the show would have to be abandoned.

Yikes.
What a terrible way to end a season.
Completely devoid of reality. Would never happen in IRL.
Emotionally manipulative and forced plot device.
The ending didn’t go as I had imagined, which was the obvious way, so I was always impressed at the originality and unpredictability of the show.
When I realized the Mitch interview wasn’t happening I was kinda let down cause I really wanted for Bradley to expose and drag him publicly and the network (Fred) and everyone complicit, but it took a very unexpected and heartbreaking twist and at the end of the day Bradley and Alex didn’t need Mitch and I’m in awe of their performances, especially Jennifer’s (she can get the emmy nom for this show and Reese for Little Fires), I’m glad Alex took accountability of her actions. That last scene of the times square shot with Chip was AMAZING, I love when series show the impact the storyline has in the outside world.
I don’t feel like a second season is needed tho, this works amazingly as a limited series, the only thing I would like to see is Mitch rotting in jail, or facing severe consequences for what he did to Hannah, but I think that was implicit in the ending.
Edit: I’ve been thinking about this for the last year and there was something off with the execution of that scene of the girls calling out the network, I don’t know how to explain it but it feels like out of high school, when you get organized with the rest of your group to march into the principal’s office to complain about a teacher and you feel powerful about it but in reality you look lame, you think you are the most powerful person in the world and that you are gonna change a situation, but the principal is just entertaining you cause they have to, and the teacher is just annoyed cause they know their job is safe, does that make sense to anyone? Or maybe a better way to explain it is like “everyone in the room stood up and clapped” and we know that didn’t happen, so that’s the vibe I got from that scene.
Suffice to say I am late to this watching party but I am truly invested now. One of the best series in a long time. The acting is superb, as well as the script. This episode did feel ever so slightly rushed (the Hannah death should maybe have happened at end of episode 9)... but nethertheless, was amazing go watch. Can't wait to get stuck into season 2!
The first eight episodes slowly paved the way for the ninth episode, which begins to build a tense of office politics, and the last episode brings a all-drama explosion, it feels so good, I say.
The piano, the slow motion... So cheesy. This is why critics panned the show.
Been watching TV shows for a really long time. For the first time ever, I was amazed by how original that show was. And then, I realized that instead of watching the pilot... I watched the season finale. So yup, this episode would be a truly amazing pilot. :) Now I’m not sure I’ll watch the “real” pilot, but as a standalone, without knowing anything about the show, I thought this was groundbreaking - despite the obvious Me Too plot.

What?!
Honestly I never thought the show was bad, but then everything after Gugu's death ... it could've been written and directed in such a different way but the result is SO RIDICULOUS.
what a horrible season finale
Ugh what a waste of my time. I hope it doesn’t get renewed. I can tolerate a lot of things in bad shows or movies, but I can never tolerate unlikable characters. Which is pretty much everyone here. Whats the point of sticking with a show if there’s nothing and no one to root for?
One of the best episodes I've ever seen. Thatk you, Apple TV+
Well I've loved this show so far (and still do) but those last 5 minutes went on full fantasy.. that would NEVER happen IRL.
