Is it sad that when I see an adaptation of one of Kings works I immediately think it is going to be just awful. This show is just bad. It's a horror genre and I find myself not repelled by the imagery but rather the lack of style or substance offends and scares me the most. Characters are unlikable making me not care about the situation they are in. A death would be a death...wouldn't effect anything. There is no attachment to the people and the actors don't seem to be putting effort into viewers becoming attached to them. This is what happens when a movie and a book make love then regret it half way through. You get the aborted fetus of a tv show that had potential to grow and be awesome but never really stood a chance. Don't waste your time better horror out there.
This is the worse series I have seen in a long while. Not even sure why I saw the all. Guess I hoped it would get better, but no! Terrible scribt, terrible characters and terrible actors (but maybe not their fault). Please don't waste your time on this piece of shit...
Haven’t watched a show ever where I hoped every character would die. Man, this was terrible but to be fair, I couldn’t take watching it after EP 6 so I skipped to the last episode just to see how it ended.
We basically watched this show in a single day because it was quite intriguing. The effects were really disappointing but the story was quite good, even though there's a lot of plot holes. Also the ending of the season is way too open. You don't understand enough what actually happened but I'm not sure if I even want there to be a second season…
The characters are very flat.
I don't know if the other commenter who gave it a 9 watched the same series as I did. This sucked... like really bad. The actors are all terrible and (I know this doesn't matter much) really weird-looking? Like they all have these weird faces and underbites, I'm not sure why. But aside from that, the script is horrible, and the delivery is even worse. More than half the time, the episodes are not focused on the mist itself but on the many many dramas going around these people's lives. The creators really think that you will care about a character dying that had less than 3 minutes of screen time. New characters are being constantly introduced and none of them have any charisma whatsoever and are impossible to relate to; you'll hate them all. Besides, all of the choices the characters make are absolutely stupid and illogical. Everyone seems to be going crazy and acting accordingly. It's horrible. I don't know what they were aiming for.

It's connected to King's novel as much as it is connected to Silent Hill - in almost no way. Similar mist, similar mystery and some locations (novel had mall, Silent Hill had church). It would be better for show to not mention it's connection to Stephen King and just be independent story in it's own universe. As it actually is.
Would be great to see season 2 some time soon.

So many questions and plot twists.
But I'm sad they didn't make a season 2
(or at least one last episode with all the answers on the table and a happy ending)

If you have read the book, the movie was shit compared to the book. If you compare tv show to the book, it's shit again. Approach this as something new, dont compare it to the book. It has a potential, lets see how well it goes.

I've never read the novella. I've seen the movie, but felt so bad about how it ended. I kind of liked this series, but felt even worse over that finale. I really wish there were a second season, if only to answer all the questions that the first one left. How dare you make me care and then leave me hanging like that~!!
The show based on the Stephen King Novel with thrilling factor to the most. I enjoyed it and watched it all one go, it has an intense feeling to it, my kind of show.
Great characters that you get invested in and some you hate with the worst and best of every kind coming out at the worst of times. You know it's a good show when you really hate some of the characters.
The movie is better than all 10 episodes of this TV series

The show started of kind of good and quickly took a turn to boring. I think they went to fast in the first five episodes and forget they had five more episodes to fill so they tried to fill it with boring stories, not well thought through stories that didn't truly fit together.
I love Frances Conroy and I must say that she is the only good thing about this show.
Most characters are very annoying and far from likable which made it hard for me to connect with the show. I couldn't be bothered to see what happened to them.
The main story arc about Alex was so predictable and again, not a very likable character.
This had way more potential. Pity.
Tom Jane should be sent in, but this time with an automatic rifle rather than a revolver.

Don't spend a single moment watching this travesty. Lasted 15 mins into first episode and all I wanted to do was sue King for compensation for the strenuous work I put in watching it for that long. Potential to be good if they scrap what they are doing now. Recast and start over from a better script. Watch something else.
