Some characters had some really well-written arcs (i.e. Smith and his family) but the majority of the characters were really poorly written and dragged the whole season down. The multiverse-travel crap was really the cheapest trick the writers could've used to advance the plot.
This was a supposed to be a show about people, about history and what we learned from it, but now it has entered the level of lower-shelf Sci-fi, which is really a shame, some of the 'human' moments were deeply affecting and were worthy of a better story to be honest.
i honestly do believe that they should have shaved 4-6 minutes off of some of these episodes
A solid 9, would be a 10 but they didn’t do anything with Hitler lol they set him up to be a crazy old man obsessed with the films but then it seemed like they didn’t know what to do with his story and killed him off instead, could’ve made it so the resistance actually killed him (is there no resistance in Germany/Europe???), then the nazis have no choice but to blame Japan because it would show how weak they are that the resistance got to them, but nope some random generic dead beat father took control of the entire world besides the 15% Japan has/is part of the neutral zone

This was an excellent season, really excellent. Still a job of work to follow, but I’m getting the gist most of the time now I think. Juliana is thankfully becoming a more interesting character, though some of the show’s slightly irritating hero worship for her remains. Smith I could watch all day. The end of the seasons, the last couple of episodes particularly felt pretty rushed; wish the season was an episode or two longer to accommodate that. Can’t wait to start Season 3 in a day or two.
So much worse then the first season, maybe watch only the last episode. :(

Season 2 feels like the engine has been started and there's less preoccupation with the world building that occupied most of season 1. There are some nice storylines, pretty emotional stuff and a sense of hope against the feeling of impending doom that makes everything nicer to watch. I still have trouble with most of the young actors, but the rest of the cast is quite good.
