My god. I don't think I've ever been so invested in an animated series! Maybe it's just from already knowing the characters, but do far this has been better than expected.

That was an awesome cliffhanger.

This is what this show should have been from the beginning.

Pike: "Damn it!"

  • Poor Scanlan

Sylas: "Keep your eyes on me."

  • Yo, the action goes hard in this episode

Cassandra: "Sylas, wait!"

  • Damn, the flashbacks

Vex: "Keyleth, do something!"
Keyleth: "I can't."
Vex: "Please!"

  • Keyleth is the MVP. Her back must be hurting

Pike: "My turn."

  • Damn

Keyleth: "Grog, I don't want to hit you."
Grog: "I can take it!"
Keyleth: "But..."
Grog: "Just do it!"

  • It's moments like these that keep it from being cliche.
  • Yo, Keyleth has gone full Avatar State

Keyleth: "No!"

  • NOOOOOO ;-;
  • Of course our MVP had to (almost) die

7/10

MY GOD!!! So much action packed in such a small amount of time, and I am all for it!!! Not to mention this is probably some of Grey DeLisle’s best VO work as Delilah here.

But god damn why did they have to do Keyleth dirty like that after she had her most badass moment?!

"Oh goody." Those multiple one-on-ones were suitably epic. Pike being a right little badass

Percy's struggle was insanely good to watch. And the Sun Tree with the clutch play was a cracker.

And yet again... every single thing Grog said during the Sylas duel was utter perfection.

Liked how much the wide shots of the top of the Ziggurat looked like the image of the Raven Queen's ascendance, given the fact they're for a similar kind of attempt, or at least the preliminary stages of one.
