"Now what?"

The flood didn't come, the world survived. Senior is still in shock, like the prologue to this season with the lady getting on the roof waiting to get taken. You can believe in something so much but it will always just keep disappointing you.

I'm glad Kevin finally realized he was being a coward for always running from Nora. All it took was an unfinished romance novel. He has just been killing himself to distract himself from Nora and the real world. That scene between the two Kevins was beautifully bloody (the song was perfect) and that last shot it the afterlife was very similar to Fight Club. I was so glad to see Patti and Meg again.

Kevin is now in a race against time to try and get to Nora before she uses that machine. This has always been a love story between two broken people and I hope he gets there in time but it wouldn't be the Leftovers if it wasn't depressing. Only one episode left...

What was with the penis scanner!? They even had a thud sound effect for when he used it.

it´s not over yet and I already miss this show. seen a lot of shows in life ( and will see a lot more if God allows me :P ) i don´t know how this will end, i don´t think not even the creators though about that when they started this roller-coaster ride / mind-blow / Mindfuck of a show but whatever happens this will never leave my top 5 of all time.

This may be the twin episode to last season's "International Assasin", but to me it feels like the weirdest 'greatest hits' episode to a series ever, and ultimately might be the very best of the season up there with last week's as a result. It's a mix of everything the show has ever done, from the first season's despairing brutality (that twin scene is almost-look-away disturbing), second's evolution of adding dark humor and bewildering surreality, to this third's purposeful, music-cue-perfected, unique own thing. It's uproariously funny, full of dream logic that almost tantalizingly matches up with the main storyline fully but not quite, profoundly sad with its weird but perfect matchup of songs and grief, and just so, so magnificent. "Now what?" I have no idea, but I trust we are in too good a hand that will refuse to deviate from its own path, and thus turn out to be very satisfying at least.

SO WHERE WERE THE KIDS’ SHOES??????
I never considered Kevin needed to destroy this afterlife scene in order to actually get to live! It was amazing seeing Kevin sacrifice a part of himself or Kevin sacrificing himself? in order to actually be present in the real life. The only thing I wanted was to get more input about Evie and Maggie, like why did Evie did that? Maybe cause in her mind her family was gone? And from Maggie I still wanna know what her mother was supposed to tell her and also I wonder if in the end she felt satisfied with what she did w the GR.
And I’m glad Kevin finally realized that he loves Nora! I hope we get to see them say goodbye, and notice how I’m not saying “hope they have a happy ending” cause I know that’s not happening, but at least that they get to say goodbye.

So, the flood came and gone and they were all spared. Well, except for Australian Kevin, that poor guy. But that wasn't the flood, so...

This dreamlike episode wasn't as fun as the others for me, though I guess the meaning was important as Kevin destroyed that world so that he can stop running away from the real one.

It was a bit funny that he got to kill Meg in such a heartless manner. The penis scanner as well, specially with the other Kevin peeking.

You know in 2x02 Jill told Kevin to "not fuck up with Nora". Lo and behold

"Jesus, you look just fucking like him." Other Meg

I can imagine the writers having a hearty laugh about their insane story about purgatory and the afterlife, one of them saying, "lets make it mysterious enough to keep viewers curious, while still taking a piss on Christian religion. It'll be EPIC!"

LOL, it's certainly been interesting.

I just didn't feel this episode honestly. It felt weird for the sake of being weird and the music sent it over the top. I know I'm in the minority with these thoughts but I just don't like the dream episodes, i feel like with one episode left it was a waste of time spending a whole hour wherever the hell this was supposed to be and just felt like an excuse to get all the actors one last shot on the show.

So much depth of portrayal, all to support and frame the core realizations of the episode which can be summed up with:
"We fucked up with Nora.
and
"Take this thing out of me." "Why?" So that we can never come back to this place again."

This seemed more like a final redemption and righting of Kevin himself than it did of the world-threat Dad believed was coming. (I suppose the implication afterwards is that there was no eventful significance to the seven-year anniversary after all.)

In that sense, this episode also bookends very nicely with the next...
