[5.4/10] Another dud. Woof. Ruxin and Taco’s trip to Chinatown feels waaaay too broad and lazy with some casual racism thrown in. Taco overdoing an aphrodisiac is cheesy as all hell, and while I can appreciate the show trying to flip the script and have the people from another culture make fun of Ruxin rather than the other way around, the execution is lacking.
The bit with Pete being awkward and offending his divorce mediator was also cornball sitcom shlock with lazy edgy humor thrown in to try to make up for it. That they run into one another at a X-mas party could have been something decent, but instead it’s just a bunch of lame jokes.
The one part of the episode I did like was Kevin and Jenny jousting over who got to make the calls for their fantasy football team when the playoffs were on the line. The way they kept trying to lord the issue over one another was, again, a little cheesy, but at least had some amusing humor to it. Though the “usual bet” stuff felt like weak fanservice to be thrown into the episode teaser and get teenage boys to tune in.
The bit with Andre dating the namesake of the Shiva trophy doesn't seem especially promising to me, but hey, maybe the show can manage something interesting in the season finale. I’m not holding my breath.
