The Last Ship: Season 5

5x10 Commitment

Unbelievable. I slogged my way through so much dreck this season because I was looking forward to the Final Confrontation between Nathan James and the battleship and then...this. Nothing. A sucker punch from a ship that should not have gone undetected and the James is out of commission. And to make matters even more annoying (if that's possible), the idiots on the battleship then allow themselves to be broadsided by the crippled James. Unreal. Yeah, there were some nice moments and callbacks in this finale, but none of it matters when the epic battle that I'd been looking forward to so much simply failed to materialize at all. Very disappointing.

I always feel weird when I finish watching a show, but this was an unsatisfying Series Finale.

The Battleship magically reappears to critically damage the NJ. The ship sinks after Chandlers rams it into the Battleship.
Meanwhile on the ground side, the beach assault leads to a failed recon on Tavo's home which turns into an improvised assault. Tavo itself is killed when he realizes Chandler didn't bother to come himself to get him.
The 'Chandler has to decide' sequence is nice even if of all dead crewmembers Rachel is missing.

I might have missed it but I don't think they gave even the start of an explanation on how Tavo got his hands on a Battleship.
Could have enjoyed having one more episode to stretch out events from this last episode and have a proper conclusion like what did they do after the war ended (especially after Danny killed a kid).

what kind of ending is this. Okay the ship is no more but they could have flashed forward Abit to give it a nice ending of sort. Bad ending of a good show

adieu Nathan james, it has been a great and long journey.

This ending was rare. I don't know, I expected more.
This was a good show, it had ups and downs but was good.
Chandler made it, he survived.
It was sad to see the Nathan James go, but was for the best.
Thank you for the memories.

Run. Shout. Bang. Nod. Repeat. "It's Time. Abandon Ship." Never a truer word said. Thank God it's over.

Who'd have thought I could have cared so much for a ship... RIP Nathan James.

I think this episode just confirms this season shouldn't have been made

Said it a few episodes ago, and I'll say it again: If you want slow-motion footage, film extra frames!

Far short of what it should have been based on the early seasons' production values, but about on par with what I expected of the show's writing at this point. The ship lived up to its namesake in the end. (If only Captain Nathan James was a real historical figure.)

It didn't seem to me to be their better work as writing was concerned. I love the series , think its a good one.

The worst end possible for a good show.

This season was low for the series' standard and how was the last confrontation and what happens in the mean time was a total failure. So disappointed.

I expected more, I really enjoyed this show until this season arrived. Is sad what we got as closure.
