Not sure what it is exactly but this season just feels... lacking. Maybe it's the lack of King Alfred - he was such a strong character, Edward cannot come close to filling what Alfred brought to the show. Beocca dying earlier in the season certainly doesn't help either. I just find myself struggling to care about most of the characters that are left.
