So much goes on this episode but first things first let's cover off that concert. It wasn't until all this time later that many of us discovered why we were subjected to so much BETTY during the course of this show. Turns out Ilene Chaiken and Elizabeth (EZGirl) Ziff were dating for it all. Having a bit of bonus cross promo is one thing but jesus they go hard and it only gets worse. The theme tune, well I've actually grown to love that over the years but the awful samples of them at other musical overlays and poorly acted band insert sections? Pass! Was all the more embarrassing by following up their song with Heart of all people! Absolutely incredible performance.
This season showed great growth for Shane and it's wonderful to have it end with her finally being brave enough to make a real go of things with Carmen. And their scenes were smoking hot!!
And Jenny. Poor Jenny. She used to get so much hate back in the day but I don't think anyone truly appreciated the nuanced plot of her struggles with mental health and trauma. This show was ahead of its time for writing like that and Mia Kirshner was incredible. Love her for her struggles, and love her for the absurdity that's yet to come.
