Lovely emotional character-driven episode!
Genuinely so relieved they got their heads out of their asses and didn't come up with another reason to keep her in Gilead
oh my god
fucking finally
Glad that she's finally in Canada, but damn she didn't go all this time out of guilt that she didn't have Hannah to bring back to Luke. That broke my heart and the fact that she had to leave Janine.
If she had left that boat, I would stop watching the show.
Elisabeth Moss totally deserves an Emmy...
June: I'm sorry I don't have her. 'Kay? I'm sorry. I'm sorry it's just me. I'm sorry it's just me. I knew it would...
Luke: No, no, no, no.
June: I'm sorry.
Luke: No, no, no, no.
June: I'm sorry.
Luke: Mmm-mmm.
June: I'm so sorry. I'm sorry.
Luke: You're okay.
June walks off the boat, stepping on to Canadian soil.
June: [Inhales deeply]
The Handmaid's Tale title card normally pops up after the opening sequence of each episode. On this seminal episode, it appears right before for the end credit, signifying June's tale as the handmaid comes to an end. I suspect June will live under a pseudonym, bringing Waterfords to justice and join efforts to fight Gilead to free Hannah. This series is now starting to align as the immediate prologue to The Testaments.
Thank god, she is finally out of Gilead. I was so worried they were going to turn it around once she was on the boat, especially with her own regrets about Hanna being left behind.
Really looking forward to the change of pace and direction now that June is in Canada.
This season seems to be getting a bit tedious to me.
s1 , Zoom into June's face
s2 , Zoom into June's face
s3 , Zoom into June's face
s4 , Zoom into June's face
I'm not sure I followed how they managed to produce a Rachel Smith ID card, and particularly when Rachel Smith CLEARLY was not on the boat manifesto on the way to Chicago. Very sloppy of the Gilead Coast Guard
Why is this episode so short? Around 37 minutes excluding the unnecessary and really long 4 minute recap.
I thought that was just phenomenal.
Worst episode of the series. But at least we got the requisite tight close up for the 400th time.
I fast forwarded through at least 2/3 of this episode. Every single flashback was just filler. Anything that didn’t involve June getting to Canada was skipped. This was a really disappointing episode. All of that manufactured angst was beyond tedious. I often thought of the final episode of Game of Thrones, it was really that bad.

I love the show. But all those stares into the camera, and long scenes of nothing are just getting overused...
