This episode's ending is so emotionally strong, had me in tears multiple times: - the "it's okay" mouthed by Paloma Guzman to the key witness - the verdict - the subsequent arrest
Really well-played.
I didn't follow the A plot's relationship to the B plot at all: why does Christy go to Peter's attorney and get referred to Alicia? Why in a metro area that has to have tens of thousands of sex workers does Alicia think Christy and Peter were involved? (I guess the referral, but that would be a bizarre move on Peter's part.) How is it seven months after Peter's resignation and a whole trial, and Alicia still doesn't have any idea how much Peter spent on sex? Similar to the first episode, the backflips to keep the husband in the plot aren't working for me.
I prefer this portrayal of SWs as brave and delicate angels to their more typical portrayal as dead bodies and punchlines, but it takes some heroic acting from Paloma Guzman to make Christy into half a character. She does well with what she's given, though.
The budding chemistry between Alicia and Will is just really not doing it for me (despite me being in love with both): "We could do worse" when someone mistakenly thinks they're getting a room together is sooooo far over the line, really deserves an uncomfortable reaction from Alicia.
