Blanche: Why didn’t you kiss with your mouth open?
Dorothy: Because I was 8
Blanche: ….So?

Um, I’m sorry, did we just watch a completely different show that just happens to feature the Golden Girls and isn’t as funny?

Not a great episode because it doesn’t feel like Golden Girls at all, so the rhythm is completely off. But since it was a pilot for another series, makes sense the girls were on the back burner.
Still, Rita Moreno was gorgeous

IMDB says, "Fans consider this episode the worst episode of the entire series." (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0589741/trivia?item=tr4217915)

I'm split on that point, personally.

As a Golden Girls episode, it makes zero sense—the plot revolves around a character we've never seen before, and never will see again. But if one ignores the series title, it's perfectly good television. Not amazing, but solid.

I don't understand why the pilot of an entirely new show got shoehorned in as a season finale here, but I'm choosing to rate this episode independently of its association with The Golden Girls (and will therefore exclude it from my average rating for the season).
