The fact that they cancelled this show and continue to let other wack a**. shows continue to air is sad af.
This was the best spin off of a movie I've ever seen
This is easily the best horror show to come along in quite some time. It's a real shame it hasn't gotten more exposure; if you're a fan of solid theological horror, definitely check this one out!
If you go into it expecting an extension of the movie franchise, you're going to be disappointed. This show feels like Supernatural if it took itself seriously, in a good way.
This is a excellent drama. I expected a horror show or something between Supernatural and Preacher. Instead I found a well written show that I plan to watch more often.
They bought rights to the name, but contains very little from the original. There's also the new plot element in which there are many possessed characters, not just the girl -- so it's more like a zombie story than the exorcism of a single demonic possession. Very similar plot to "Outcast" on Cinemax -- 2 guys dealing with a zombie-devil infestation. Would rather have seen an expanded limited event series, maybe 8 episodes, based on the original book. Instead, an endless supply of demon-zombies for a repetitive story that doesn't end until the series is cancelled...
More looking forward to Blatty's upcoming publication "The Exorcist For The 21st Century" featuring an original and never before published adaptation for a new miniseries of Blatty's classic novel.
excellent first season.
shame though they couldn't get Ellen Burstyn & Linda Blair to play their roles of mother & daughter
I really enjoyed this. It was well written, well conceived, and with the direct ties to the cult classic movie, an instant hook in. However, I had wished for a more finalised ending. It was very open-ended, and without the demon plaguing Reagan and her family, what's the point? Fox may be a money making machine, but they need to learn to have an ending that actually ends.
God is not the one who works in mysterious ways
I was looking for shows I've seen in the past that I enjoyed to watch again and this one was a must. Why they cancelled this I will never know, one of the best spin offs ever.
Great horror series with stunning visual effects. Storyline is great too and takes a bunch of nice turns. I’ll have to say it’s easy to zone out of, but it really does hit the spot if you’re looking for a horror series with a bit of a feelsy empathetic approach—though the screenplay has a bunch of cheesy moments, season 1 with the most.
Season 1 was so-so, but still watchable. I think people who haven’t seen The Exorcist film wouldn’t be able to appreciate it.
It finally started to find its footing in its second season. It was a big bounce up from the first season. It was definitely more engaging, there was so much more at stake for the characters, I was absolutely hooked. Such a shame Fox decided to cancel the series. I feel like it could’ve gone somewhere.
First season was awesome...2nd season was good...im still hooked is there a 3rd season?
This is a bloody good series Season 1 was a good beginner and Season 2 is TERRIFIC... The build ups and a superb twist in S2 Ep 5 was terrific. I am not sure why they stopped it. This is very much underrated series. Wish they reboot it.
I've started watching the show like three days ago and I'm quite in love with it. I didn't expect such a good show, to be honest. I'm not a great fan of the movie but this show is almost perfect for me. I love the genre, the argument, the interpretation of Ben Daniels, the characters... I have watched until the seventh episode and I'm really looking forward for the next.
"God, for future reference, isn't the one who works in mysterious ways."
There's nothing like the truth of the Devil to put the fear of God in the lukewarm priest, Father Tomas. It's a very interesting premise that immediately appealed to my own questioning faith.
And because I got crazy goosebumps when The Exorcist Theme started playing, I've unwittingly committed myself to seeing this series through for the entire (hopefully) creep-tastic journey. That music sure does strange things to people.

Great show. Season 2 took it to another level. John Cho was at his best.
