From the same person that brought us Angel Beats & Charlotte I was expecting more, enjoyable but overall disappointed. Could of swore Maeda said this would be his saddest work, what happened? It felt lacking in a lot of areas. Felt more like someone tried to imitate Jun Maeda's work & failed.
To no one's surprise Jun Maeda has a formula he sticks to but that I don't think it translates well to single cour shows. I didn't get very invested in this but I can see why it solicited quite a few harsh criticisms. Frankly the show to me had just a few too many weird elements to take it seriously and the conclusion leaves me a bit uneasy, especially given Youta's general narcissistic narration.

It had a slow and stupid start but the last few episodes were really enjoyable. Most of all both the opening and the ending themes were awesome.
Can't say it's a great show but it was a good change of pace.
