The Blacklist: Season 9

9x14 Eva Mason

An educational episode. I went and googled Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy and as disturbing as this is more information opened my mind to Factitious disorder imposed on self rather than others.... man, this changes my perspective on things and makes me question a few individuals in my circle.

But there's that touching moment at the end with agent Ressler....it actually balanced the episode's disturbing facts. phew.

Why would you allow the elevator to close knowing someone was right there two seconds ago :man_facepalming_tone3:

Interesting episode. I like that it got personal considering Panabaker was involved. Showed us a very humane and softer side to her normally stern character. But the interesting aspect comes from what Park actually said. Who is the bad guy in this case?
A heartfelt moment at the end, had me tear up. I truly do love this team and it showed that the team works perfectly well without Liz.

What the hell was with the ending scene, where they ambush Ressler with a sobriety party? It felt so bizarre and awkward, and also had nothing to do with the rest of the episode.

I enjoyed the educational psychological/medical condition parts, here.

But there's this out-of-place weirdness in the episode that just doesn't sit well with me, especially that last scene. I don't know what it is, but I feel like it doesn't match the characters or the series in general the way it was portrayed. Something off about it. It's almost as if the writer is trying to push some kind of narrative that's different from the show's usual focus on the arcs of the Blacklist plot. But, I don't know.

Maybe it's to balance out the narrative that some people can be doing terrible things and keeping them secret, but then ending on a happier note to show there are also secrets that are harmless.

Either way, I'm interested to see the progress with both the Keen and Cooper investigations.
