Really funny to see the similarities again between Zava and Zlatan with the Ajax poster. And as a Dutch Ajax fan the beginning was hilarious. Coach Beard the G.O.A.T.
I see an "Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series" nomination for Brendan Hunt for this episode.
wow, I really liked this episode. Not sure what exactly, but the whole thing just felt great and was good to watch.
A lovely, laid-back episode, my fave of the season so far. And Colin's talk with Trent kinda wreck me good. "I have an ache... an ache for both my lives to be my only life. And I know we can’t fix every ache inside of us. But I shouldn’t have to pretend it’s not there either."
Ted Lasso presents “The Tales of Ba Sing Se”
The floating house guy is definitely Rebecca's future baby daddy
Sometimes a show can make you realize, you weren’t just supposed to be skipping along and watching each episode as they come. You were supposed to take a minute, and enjoy the side quests. We aren’t supposed to watch a tv show for the destination.
I‘m NOT crying. You are!
This is not only the best episode of that series, it‘s by far the best hour of TV I‘ve been watching in the last few years. Kodus to the writer and the whole team!
Am I the only one who thinks it started to drag by the last third?
The best episode of the season so far by some margin I think. Top notch from start to finish.
Ted reinventing Total Football. :joy:
It's both a funny bit and a good way to show how he's starting to see the game better, learning to see the tactical side beyond who goes where, with or without the ball.
Maybe now he can finally go toe to toe with Man City and give Guardiola a run for his money.
What in the Donald Duck in Mathmagicland did I just watch??
This might be my new favorite episode.
this episode takes place in amsterdam and omg i loved it so much, one of those relaxing episodes and gives every character their moments and by the end of it, the team is refreshed and some new interesting bonds are forged and TED finally gets the moment. Best episode of the season for me!
It's an excellent episode. It's easy, right? Get the soccer stuff out of the way. Switch the location for a different place (it's not even the terrible cliché of Amsterdam I'm used to by now - funny that they seem incapable of incorporating London in such a beautiful way like they did with Holland). Focus on overlooked characters. Focus on pairs of two: primarily unlikely buddies. Tell a romantic story. Tell a funny story. Tell a serious story that is a taboo in the world of soccer (and they do it in a decent way, focussing on the hardships gay men still must endure, instead of turning this into a steamy sex story [as if that's what gay men will inevitably do at night in Amsterdam]). That's a winning formula. It's still not an edgy or complex show but the amount of gezelligheid (sic!) this show is able to produce is outstanding.
PS: it would have been so much better if they didn't explain that he actually reinvented voetball totaal. Americans would never know. And I could pride myself on realizing this within 10 seconds into his trip.
Wow, what a well timed episode. Just swooped in there with some positivity and reflection. Nice breath of fresh air in a sea of manufactured drama and edginess entertainment.
hozela that word the Danish guy keeps saying has the British translation to the slang calm u know u can feel calm, things and actions can be calm just like the boat house guy describe, no direct translation British English has a word for everything
don't worry about a thing 'cause every little thing is gonna be alright
Ted just learned the TikiTaka
What an episode. I have killed this show in my reviews for being a caricature of itself. Its been living off of season 1 for a while now. This episode can be enjoyed on so many levels. In one sense it is very much like the "Beard After Hours" of S2 (which was easily the best episode of that season). But this episode had more to offer than that one in that it involved the whole case and the storyline was further developed. But you could also just sit back and enjoy the characters being real and not the cliche garbage that has been put our way this season.
In reading the negative reviews of this episode, it really does show you the difference in how people view this show. Some people just want to see Keely and Roy back together, which I think is not even in the top 50 most (potentially) interesting things about the show.
Its also pretty easy to spot a good episode from a bad one. If there is heavy use of an underlying music bed, they also know that the writing is terrible.
It's more of a miss than a hit. This season's version of the god-awful Beard After Dark (S02E09 which will forever be skipped).
It isn't an abomination as it has a moment of enjoyment - the Chet Baker nod - but largely falls flat otherwise.
Worst of the season but not an insult like last season's odd-one-out.
Seeing it was an 1+ hour, I was afraid it would be dull like was Beard After Hours but finally it was so good that I didn’t want this episode to end, it’s to me the best episode ever (so far). Gezelligheid !
A beautiful way to use Amsterdam for an episode. It fits the show like a glove.
I definitely loved this episode even more because I'm from the Netherlands.
The "gezellig" boat guy is my favourite. I feel like one thing a lot of Dutch people have in common is that when we learn that the word has no translation in English, we INSTANTLY feel proud, and this episode felt gezellig. I also loved the Andre Hazes quip and Jan being excited about Groningen. (Though I personally would've thought it funny if they all took the train to Groningen). Also the bike thing... the old guy stealing the bikes, CLASSIC. Jamie & Roy in general, I love them.
And then of course, the part that followed Colin and Trent, my heart. I was crying. It's been a thing here in the Netherlands, and that already made me hyper-focussed on that storyline, but the fact that they choose this location to further it feels like it has a double meaning to me. Which I can really appreciate.
I may just watch this episode again because SO MUCH happened in it.
Felt like a short movie. The feel-good vibes are off the chart.
A nice episode of characters bonding and experiencing new things. Some bits got a bit OTT but it was solid overall.
Really loved Trent having an Elder Gay(TM) moment with Colin without it turning into a romance for him. Too often fall into that trap with two queer characters. I'm glad it didn't happen here. So far at least!
It's been really nice to see Roy and Jamie get to this point and for both to have grown a bit.
Honestly I fell in love with that man on the boat right along with Rebecca  also love that sometimes experiences like that are just for a short time. Doesn't need to lead to anything at all. Something to get her back on track to finding her happiness
Insanely great episode. Loved every minute of it. Might be the best yet! Definitely the best episode of the season.
This episode was a wild ride!
I LOVE THIS TEAM SO MUCH. this was like the perfect episode after everything they deserved a fun night <3
This felt like the spiritual successor to the Beard After Hours episode from S2, except they expanded it to feature the whole cast this time. That episode was fairly divisive: people either loved it, or thought it was a waste of time. I figured this episode would end up the same, so I'm a bit surprised to see only positive comments here thus far.
I thought this episode was pretty boring! Didn't help that it's 1 hour long. Definitely did not need to be that long.
I could have skipped this episode and missed nothing.
As a Dutchman it’s nice to see your county featured in a movie or tv show. Too bad it’s always Amsterdam though. Great episode.
I don't know why I'm crying, but I am.
Dang, this was good.
I can't stop smiling  what an episode
This ep was cute, but I just can't shake off the fact Rebecca didn't get any stranger danger red warning flashing lights in her head, even when the guy ended up being a complete gentleman... Yes, this is a light-hearted show, so nothing like that's gonna happen, but like... Doesn't sit well w/ me, tbh.
I am Dutch and for a moment when the episode started I was so confused hearing our sports commentator covering a match with Ajax. Ah an episode in the Netherlands, cool. Was worried it would be the same old cheesy (no pun intended) stuff with clogs, but it wasn't that bad. apart from that I really loved this ep, as I love each and every one.
Season high. Big Ted Lasso hug we all were hoping for
Brilliant episode for a Dutch guy like me. So many inside jokes. So many Dutch songs. So much ‘gezellig’. Loved it.
This just might be the best hour of television Ive ever seen. And I'm old.
best episode of the series :ok_hand_tone2:
This episode was so comfy, definitely the highlight of the series so far. I’m glad the hour format is finally giving the storytelling enough room to breathe outside of “le funny show”.
I loved this episode. A truly feel good story. Oh, and I happen to live in Amsterdam so that helps as well ;-)
So wonderfully wholesome, every flippin’ minute and I loved it.
Haven’t been feeling Season 3 up to now, but this episode was so so good. Ted Lasso at its best.
Using Amsterdam for an episode is really hit or miss. This one is an enormous hit! It has the feels and made me laugh out loud a lot of times.
Just a lovely episode. I found the balance between characters as they're off doing their own things to be really good, and all of the stories had their own charm to them. Some great moments between characters like Colin and Trent, the team building some chemistry and coming together to have a good time despite their recent struggles, Rebecca finally finding someone to make her feel less lonely for just one night, an absolutely heartwarming and charming little arc for Roy and Jamie (who continue to be maybe my favorite part of this season), some more charming moments with Leslie and Will, and nice character growth from Ted in an unexpected way. It was great to see him strategize and come up with a new scheme for the team all on his own, which we know is not his strong suit as a coach. This felt like a fun little time out on the town in Amsterdam with the characters I love, and I quite enjoyed it.
This show can do no wrong.
Me being from the Netherlands I absolutely loved this episode. This might be the best episode of TL ever!!
Yes! They are finally back!

We will eventually need this episode to remind us that everything's going to be alright. so, don't you worry about a thing. Brilliant Episode. Probably the best of the series. A true Masterpiece writing.
