I wasn't sure what to expect when I started Alicization, but I'm glad I did spend those hours watching it and am eager to watch the second half in a few weeks. Overall the story of the first half was interesting and the concept of this VR world a step up from the previous ones we had in SAO. I welcome the faster pace, but at the same time I'd like to see more of this world and how FluctLight exactly works and how the digital twins differ from their physical brothren. But maybe I'll get more answer in the second half. The amount of world building was enough though for me to extrapolate and imagine different scenarios that could play out in Underworld, one of my favorite pastimes. Animation and sound design were good to very good, but not incredible. But "incredible" is by definition nothing to expect on a daily basis, so that's not really something to complain about. Maybe I should at least mention that this season does include the typical SAO triggers and it might not be suitable for everyone not only for the blood. Again: If you can stomach a few unpleasant scenes, the addition of blood and some tear jerkers, and are a of SAO, you will probably not be disappointed after the first half of Alicization.
