"i am not a prize to be won" asuna should have said. like... why does she not have have any agency over what happens to herself in this video game >______________>
"It's not like he gave me a choice."
Um... just refuse. He can't do anything to you if you refuse. Tell him to go pound sand.
"...your defense is impregnable."
Maybe try attacking something other than dead center of his shield dumbass.
This episode is just retarded. Other sure why anyone would consider this a well written episode. It was predictable and trite. Asuna and Kirito are both so fucking stupid in this episode.
If Asuna wanted, she could take her leave of absence or even leave the guild and the guild master couldn't do a thing about it. Sure, he could try to make their lives more difficult, but unless he wants to PK and ruin his reputation, his hands tied.
This entire episode is pointless and unnecessary.

Love this episode. It covers so much of the story and who Kirito is. He's forced to join a guild, and we learn in-depth why he doesn't do guilds. More than we saw in earlier episodes. And his fears are basically brought to life with Kuradeel's "sudden yet inevitable" betrayal.
And then the best part, telling her he wants to stay the night with her, but rejecting sex to instead watch over her as she sleeps, and then proposing to her. The clever thing about this is, if you look at the social interactions like a sword fight (which Kirito would), there's the feint (asking to sleep over, which she assumed was asking for sex), the guard/block (rejecting her advances, making her feel too forward, then being protective over her, making her feel safe), and finally the kill shot (the proposal). He's playing the fool, but he's had his eye on her for a while, and while he doesn't really have much competition (she certainly does, between Sachi and Liz), he's kind of a nerd in real life, and something like that is how he would see winning a woman's love.
Or maybe I am just reading too much into it, but I found this episode to be very well written.
