I know the main reason for all of what happened was purely because America Ferrera wanted to leave the show, but I can't say I blame Jonah one bit. He was helping raise a child that's not his own - and then to find out that Amy didn't want to marry him, after all of that? Yeah, fuck that. Cut your losses and run at that point.
It really doesn't make any sense from Amy's perspective - you've been in a happy relationship for over a year and you still feel like getting married (eventually, not even right away necessarily) would be "forced?" By what standards? But, again, I know it's because she wanted to leave the show.
A really good episode. So emotional but still fun. I don‘t really get Amy‘s actions here but I guess they somehow had to figure out how to send Amy off without losing Jonah too.
Giving your partner an ultimatum to say whether she wants to marry you when she’s about to move to a new job, has already had one dissolved marriage, and has two kids, is a dick move. Not wanting to marry you in that moment is not indicative of not wanting to be with you. Amy is a lame character but Jonah is even worse. Funny how the focus characters of this show are not at all what make it good.
Well, let's cut to the chase. Amy is selfish. The actress had her own excuses. Good for Jonah and the show.

I’m glad America got a big farewell, fireworks included, I didn’t love that her goodbye was so centered on her break up with Noah, so I wish they had broken up last episode instead of this one so on this one they could be cooler and friendlier.
Also all of them hold their masks kinda awkwardly, they hold them by the middle with their hand closed in a fist, whenever I take it off I hold it by the ear loop lace thingy, like Amy is at her office holding it like that instead of putting it on her desk?? It’s just so odd
Watching this episode after the recent news of the show ending, makes it all a bit more heartbreaking.

So this was supposed to be the finale of last season until the pandemic happened and they had to stop shooting. I think they did a good job of incorporating it into this one and it ends up working well with the circumstances. It was America Fererra's decision and it'll give the show a different vibe if they bring someone new in hopefully without it feeling empty.
