What an episode! Bringing back stories from Cas' dark past. I love how far Cas has grown as a character over the seasons, being able to poke back at Dean and now being able to show genuine sympathy and care for Lily's loss and the impact of his actions.
Part of me is still wondering what's going to go down with the whole Billie thing though. They keep forshadowing and hinting at something awful happening and I'm just waiting for them to break the news of what the big bad is.
Solid episode. I really enjoyed it all the way through. I hope Lily comes back. Her "angel powers, but it burns out my soul" was very interesting. I wonder if she becomes totally soulless once her soul is burnt. And Sam was too interested in them. I really love the way they are moving and introducing "angel witches" is awesome.
The characterizations were different, though. Their personalities were a bit changed to fit the plot. Sam being the sympathizer, Dean holding a grudge, and martyr Cas. These are their categories but making them say just a few words was weird. The dialogue felt a little bit off but that's the way of showing that the roles are reversed. Cas being more human than angel and Dean would be a bit concerned with the cosmic consequences but he wouldn't act that pissy. He only has two modes: don't talk to Cas like that, and I am the only one entitled to say crap about him.
There was a great deal of foreshadowing about Cas' death in this episode and it looks like they're planning to kill him off. I honestly don't think so, not without fans freaking out (me included). I think the changes in his relationship with the boys are just a signal that he's about to undergo a big change. Maybe redemption.
And I loved Cas' old vessel. I've always wondered what his was gonna be like. I imagined he dressed all his vessels with a suit, tie and trench coat. Why is it with angels and long coats? All wore it. It must me trendy up there.
Sam mediating the happy couple of dorks is forever going to be my favourite thing in the world. The cargument was perfect. You know you're screwed when Dean Winchester doesn't want to listen to music.
"It's not gonna be all jelly beans a g-strings", I really love Dean's lines.
And Cas being all sarcastic "If I plan to do anything else stupid, I'll let you know", damn Cas you're learning quite fast.
And finally we get to see some angel wing burn marks again. I love that they showed them all broken, not what we're used to. And Ishim being Lee Chambers was funny as hell. I mean, Krissy's father, whom Sam and Dean saved and who died is now an angel? Why didn't they recognize him sooner? They must be losing practice, lol, I love the recycled actors in this show.
Overall, it was a very good episode introducing new powers and new fresh characters. Still I have no clue where this is going to. British MoL, Lucifer Jr, cosmic consequences, Cas' past catching up, all adds to the plot in such a wonderful way, but there's no direction whatsoever. I kindda like it. Nothing seems too obvious and that's good, although I'd be glad if we had some unexpected turns of events. The only thing I don't like is all the foreshadowings of Cas' death: "do you think I deserve to die?" "I don't regret what I did, even if it costs my life". I don't think they will, but I would get really passed if they think so. Cas is not someone you get rid of, but he needs to be refreshed. so maybe giving him another role is not a bad idea. Those changes have to mean something and I refuse to believe it's death.

Wonder how it all will resolve in the end. And the way in which the boys react to Cas' selfish choice. After seeing the sneak peek, it looks like Cas' actions have unintended consequences. That cargument looks tense and Sam has #awkward written on his forehead. But I love seeing him acting like the mother of his two dorks.
