The worst thing that could happen at the end of a tv show we like, is the feeling that we will never see it again.
The best thing that could happen at the end of a tv show like this, is that it can't get much worse.
Well the show was declining but this final episode was actually a good send-off. my opinion
I'd seen so many article titles that complained that the finale of Supergirl was bad for some reason or the other, and was pleasantly surprised to find that it was so good!
The previous two episodes felt quite iffy when it came to storytelling, in my opinion, with a few characters including Supergirl, being written out of character. That got brought to the forefront in this episode, tying up the questions that Kara has been struggling with since the start of the series; who is Kara Danvers? Who is Supergirl? How can those two identities co-exist?
Kara's journey in the show is quite different to that of the comics. In the comics, since Rebirth, Kara has struggled as Superman's cousin and has gone from one end of the galaxy to the other in search of who she is. She doesn't settle on earth as Kal does because of various events. Whereas in the show she's the hero of earth while Kal is on Argo City with his family. I'm not surprised that the show ended the way it did considering the writers seem to have taken some of the ideas and themes of Superman's life from the comics and basically put them into the show for Kara. Comic book readers will know what I mean.
The wedding was absolutely beautiful. I have loved watching Alex and Kelly's relationship develop throughout the show.
And honestly, how could you not like this episode just for the pure brilliance that is Calista Flockhart on top form as the fabulous Cat Grant?!
Kara have a pretty "meh" ending, they tried to do something fantastic but it ended up being... boring(?)
Alex and Kelly are just corny, thank god they are gone. (Sarah and Ava are the superior lesbian couple of CW)
The last relevant season for John was the 3rd one (with his father plot), since there he is just a functional character and his ending is no different.
They started a great plot with Lena (Magic) but ended just ended like: "It's just It?"
Nia was amazing, my favourite since she got into the show, but they just warp her story so fast in the end.
Brainy was really annoying I don't care for him (since he was just there to try to replace Winn).
Lilian had a beautiful ending at all.
Andrea, Nyxly, Lex, Mitch and Willian. Their story was so bad I can't even talk about it, I just can't.
⠀
Also, they completely forgot and M'gann M'orzz (who disappear in the final of S7a 'n never come back god knows why) and Mxyzptlk (who was kept inside Nyxly ball) in the end.
⠀
They put on almost every character in the last ep. It's good to see Jeremy Jordan's Winn and Calista Flockhart's Cat (James I just don't care). But I miss Kara parents (who are alive 'n well Astro), maybe a Superman&Lois cameo makes sense too but you know, covid.
⠀
The last chapter is not exactly bad, but isn't good either (represents pretty much the series average). Seriously, everything that I can say is I'm happy it's finally over.
Ok, compared to the other episodes from this season, this one was gold. I really used to enjoy Supergirl and kinda never got tired of it and I wasn't expecting this final season to decline drastically in both writing and general plot and also everything that I always enjoyed about Supergirl. At least it was a satisfactory ending and thankfully it was the end, otherwise the next season would be awful. I was happy for Nia and Brainy and couldn't care less that Mon-El and Kara did not end up together and gladly Winn and James screen time was minimal cuz I can't stand Winn and James is a bore. Cat could deliver an "old days vibes" while in another of her teachable moments with Kara and it was a good moment. J'onn is cool, had a glimpse of his future and all and Alex went crazy with this "mother plot" which was boring just like Kelly (and her brother) ... . If Lena gets a spin-off, I'll be watching, definitely lol love her! So, I guess it was a happy end! Yay! Probably won't miss Supergirl cause they did a terrific job creating the worst season of the show.
Oh good, it’s another Glee wedding.
Some depth in between the lines of the story. Refreshing.
What a journey it was, even with the ups and downs!
Yes I can complain about a lot of things of the season, but I can also say that I am ok with the end.
I always enjoyed this show and I just want to keep the good moments. The last 2 seasons were poor written but the cast did their best to keep us watching, and that's what I'm going to miss more.
The Danvers sisters and Lena will live forever in fans hearts. :hearts:
Goodbye my girl of steel.
At last, it is no longer. It's finally been put out of it's misery. When it was young it was full of life, having fun and lot's of adventures but as it aged it began the slow painful decline and became a shell of its former self. The owners had the chance to put it to sleep whilst it was on a high but greed lead them down a different path. The writers really need to be ashamed of themselves because the dribble they wrote was more than lazy and embodied the drive and passion of any staff member just going through the motions as their company goes into administration. R.I.P. Kara, not even your superpowers could rescue this show.
It was a really good ending to the show. I might not have liked most of the episodes of the series, but this was a good send-off of the show.
dropped sg after season 2 episode 2. currently watching first and last episodes of tv shows this is so fun nothing makes sense but im having an absolute whale of a time
Lol, imagine being a regular dude and giving a shit what Supergirl has to say.
AT LAST I AM FINALLY FREE
Super girl finally revealed her identity I’m so glad it been a long time coming and since her show is ending she might as well
While it was nice seeing everyone return to help save the day, it would have been so much nicer if those appearances had been given real substance and felt less like shallow tokens.
Total GARBAGE! The last 20 odd minutes were just cringe worthy!
I sincerely hope this IS the end because I don't think I could watch another series of this tripe!!!!
Good riddance! I know I won't miss you.
The fact Lena and Kara didn't end up together is criminal. I call that queerbaiting lol
Nice ending to a show that sadly got worse during the seasons
I always knew Kat always knew about Ker-rah!
THEY ARE ALL BACK!!!!!! and this is a really good series finale
Supergirl started as the weakest (by far) superhero series. S1 was a complete mess. After being taken by CW, the quality improved significantly (at least in comparisson with S1). Of course, the heavy "let's put serious subjects on our plot" that CW tends to do in every of his shows (at least in the ones i see about superheroes) is a downer; but even taking all of that in consideration, i think it was an appropiate finale. The final battle at least was interesting (something that hasn't been happening in shows like Flash or Legends of Tomorrow, where they are constantly solving their "big bads" with the "power of love, and talk" or, in the case of LoT, let's just dance and do something completely shitty), with almost every major character showing up and taking part of it. I liked the inclusion of the oldies Jimmy and Winn; even Cat was a nice surprise. Tbh, in the last couple of seasons it became the show that i "most" wanted to see each week, between all the other heroes shows. Still, i believe that the Arrowverse as we have know it should finish once and for all; the Crisis event was an amazing crossover and a really good way to close all of them (sadly, they only did it with Arrow). Still 3 series to go (i personally think that Flash and Batwoman won't have much longer).
