what a way to start off the season. The cinematography and music were amazing. And thus far it has been but tonight's episode was beyond. The shot of Kara lifting that submarine gave me BvS vibes in terms of scenery. It really looked like movie shots. The visual quality improved a lot since the previous years.
And was I the only one who noticed that Lena's accent was all over the place? She even changed it throughout a sentence I didn't notice this last year. She was amazing nonetheless. That little heart she sent to Kara was so sweet. She basically bought a big-ass company just to work with her best friend.
The Alex/Kara scene in her apartment was absolutely brilliant. Melissa and Chyler were outstanding that scene, not to mention the "Kara Danvers is my favourite person. she saved me more times than Supergirl ever could. So just think about that while you're trying to get rid of her", amazing delivery. And that Alex/Jonn scene at the end. Just wow. "stop, don't cry. If you cry, I'm gonna cry and then everyone here is gonna know that we actually can cry". I'm so happy she asked Jonn to walk her down the aile. I nominate Jonn to father of the year.
Although Kara embracing her Kryptonian heritage rather than her human frontcover would be an interesting angle to follow, I don't wanna she that sunshine being that sad. She's basically going through Oliver's motions in season 1, isn't she?
And that Edge guy is the new Maxwell Lord.
Anyways, amazing way to start the season. I loved that they showed Kara's dark side, but I hope she gets over it. Mon-El has just been a guy you dated for 4 months, Alex is your sister, don't let her out because of that.
The biggest gayest wedding National City has ever seen.
Great opening to a new season. I've always rated this series as a solid 7 (good) out of 10, but the new regulars (Odette Annable, Erica Durance, Adrian Pasdar), heightened special effects, and some new, interesting twists on the personal dynamics, this is starting the year off with an 8.5 (greatly improved) out of 10.
Trumpheads will be offended by Cat Grant's spot on comments about him. But was nice to see her in small appearances, nevertheless. Bore James, is the head of the paper again though.
Kara herself is a downer through a lot of the episode due to missing Mon-El. While wanting to be only Supergirl 24/7. A lot of the episode is her friends trying to get her back to normal.
While we're reminded that Alex is a lesbian in love pretty much every time she is shown. I mean, we get it by now.
Other than that the action was pretty solid.
I know that haters are gonna hate, but my little Karamel shipping heart could not be happier about that cute little montage with which we began the season. It was kinda funny though that Kara's new mom is ex-Lois Lane.
And maybe this is cause Lena is having a lot more screen time recently, but I can't help but pick up on Katie's accent more and more. It keeps distracting me and I miss what she's actually saying.
Is Edge giving anyone else Malcolm Merlyn vibes? No? Just me? I certainly hope not, cause any Malcolm wanna be is doomed to fail. No one will ever be able to out-evil him. There's just no way.
I really like this week's episode. I admire Melissa for being able to portray her character in a believable way. I like the dynamic of the episode, it had everything.. I'm not feeling the Edge guy. Lena was brilliant and for Sanvers? Well, my heart is aching every time I see either of the pair. I love their story and when I think that they might actually break up (nothing is confirmed, I'll hope till the end of the show that they will live happily ever after) I want to smash everything, their story is beautiful and means a lot to me and I don't want it to end for my sake and theirs. Maggie wasn't lucky with her love life and I feel bad.. Especially now after their scenes and Alex's I love you, forever
So many questions, but I'll limit myself to two: (1) Why was Lena slipping into and out of the actress's native accent throughout the episode? and (2) How soon will the writers forget that they just made Supergirl strong enough to lift a submarine out of the water and into the air without straining at all in the process? Okay, a third: Why am I still watching this when I know that it's committed to being more soap opera than anything else and, therefore, the weakest CW cape show by a wide margin?
What a great opening! I'm so happy that Katie McGrath is a series regular now. The text messages between her and Kara were so cute. Fantastic episode.
SuperGirl is off to an amazing start tgis season! Great episode e and performances. The shows is still getting better every time! Can't wait for the rest of the season!
I can't wait for super girl
Hey that’s cool we have Louis lane playing Supergirl mum
Why Is Supergirl so weak?
Great start to Season 3. Loved Alex/Maggie's conversation on the coms and Winn chiming in Aww my favorite couple.
Can't wait to see more from Odette Annable (Samantha) - She was amazing on Banshee (highly recommended ex-Cinemax show that aired for 4 seasons - 38 episodes) She was a badass on that.
I expected more, especially more details about the invasion. Disappointed.
Not a good start for me. A bit slow and boring
