Some great bits in this ep, Kara talking down the gun man without her powers, Cat's speech and Alex going full Tomb Raider being highlights. I had a suspicion from the first show of red eyes that Hank might be Martian Manhunter. The effects on him weren't too shabby either! Will be interesting to see where that goes now Alex knows.
Sigh, unfortunately the James x Kara element persists despite the lack of any chemistry whatsoever. It really would be a boon to the show to drop that whole thing but networks love a good heterosexual romance at the crux of things!
"You never get sick, that's the best part about you."
A great episode all around, from Kara talking down the thugs to the reveal of Hank's true identity.
The CGI for the Martian Manhunter was kinda poor, he looked like a PlayStation 2 rendering.
Hank saying something about not having loved ones anymore makes me think he is Martian Manhunter. Just look at his backstory. " A martian holocaust killed his wife and daughter, nearly driving him mad."
I wrote that during the episode and I was right :). I didn't expect him to go full Martian Manhunter in this episode and it was amazing.
Olsen though still strikes me as nothing but eye candy. He is never shown working. While he got a way with showing up to work in a tank top. Yet Cat told Kara to act more professional in the previous episode ?
Less romance teases and more stuff like the Martian Manhunter reveal and this show will no doubt get a second season.
Wow. So much to like. Alex going Rambo on alien but, emotional scene with Kara and the hurt man, Cat Grant is always great, Kara taking on that looter with no powers, her hands bloodied and quivering. Wow. Powerful episode!
I’m confused, her friend is falling from an elevator shaft, she’s watching him fall, yet she finds time to change into her costume before catching him
Possibly my least favourite episode thus far, I think this general plot point is over done, (superhero becomes mortal), and I just feel like this episode didn't bring anything new to the table. One of the redeeming points of this episode was the scene in which Supergirl confronted a petty thug and managed to stop him without fists but with words instead
When you get used to the powers it is difficult to be a normal human
I needed a good cry anyway.
Lets all hope this series gets cannceled so they can make some way for a proper show with a real budget and real writers and actors.
This must be the worst episode so far and the rest was already below average.

Alex is a bit of a badass isn't she? Damn. She went full Lara Croft on Jemm's sorry ass. (Coincidentally - the man playing Jemm, Charles Halford, actually has a role in the latest Tomb Raider game.)
