That Russian guy that they kidnapped is really cool :D

The casting of Jake Busey, who's already played one of my all time favorite villains, Johnny Bartlett, is a distraction, but otherwise stellar episode in a great season so far.

This Russian guy really looks like The Terminator :joy:

Really liked this action packed episode. I was surprised by two scene transitions that I found very cool. Acting, script, direction and photography is on top, as always with Stranger Things!

loading replies

Terminator also came out in 1984. If you go to the Terminator page on IMDB there's a ad for Stranger Things so I guess the likeness is not by accident.

Extra gross!

Erica is comedy gold! Steve and Dustin, yes yes yes, add Robin to the mix YES. And Alexei, o my god can we keep him! One episode of him and he already melted my heart.
I love how this season is extremely dark and extremely light at the same time.

Team Steve-Dustin-Robin-Erica totally kick ass!

Jim and Joyce's old married couple banter is killing me. LMAO. He's acting like a child though. It's not a good look on him.

loading replies

Well, then. That was exceedingly gross on a lot of disturbing levels. Also, they just totes murdered two people.

We are supposed to make the connection that the Russian dude is basically The Terminator. right? I mean he not only acts like it, he also looks very similar to how Arnold looked. Is it supposed to be a tribute or something?

Awesome episode, but the constant flickering of lights for the last 10 minutes of the episode gave me a bit of a headache.

loading replies

I know it is fantasy but the plot of this episode is totally illogical, sometimes it is funny but other times it seems too stretched.

loading replies

Aha. Now casting Jake Busey makes sense. He does creepy weirdo so well.

loading replies

The dumbass, totally incompetent, asswipe sherif is annoying the hell out me. Ruining every scene he is in.

loading replies

all the actors in this season are so annoying, especially Nancy

loading replies

I've just watched lots of Ramboes, bunch of blind Russian workers and lame scientific movie lab set (God, the fake acting of scientists and soldiers made my eyes bleed) . And that little girl is with Dustin seriously annoys me. This season is a disaster.

loading replies

While it’s still kinda hard to tell how much of the real people are present inside their possessed selves, GOD DAMN if these hospital fights didn’t have amazing buildup to reveal the new meaty mind flayer. Truly & horrifically chilling yet a worthwhile payoff.

Cute episode but I have quite some nitpicks.

  • That Terminator guy is a cool hommage but I don't like how he fits into the show.

  • The bickering between Joyce and Hopper is getting a bit annoying (they give me toxic sitcom couple vibes which I just hatee), I hope it's manly because they were very tired and upset in this and that it doesn't stay like this in the upcoming episodes.

  • Our mall quartet delivers some very fun scenes but I find the whole plot surrounding them a little too cartoonish personally.

On the other hand the last sequence with Nancy and Jonathan against the flayed was really exciting and creepy, best part of the episode! But damn Jonathan got messed up pretty badly, the Byers family just can't catch a break it seems.

The final scene with Nancy and Jonathan... wow!! :astonished:

These children have NO fear. Like El and the whole group know this terrible, killing machine is there, they go find it, kick it out so they are now safe, and then go look for it again. Also, why haven't the parents and children tried to find each other. 90% of their problems would be solved if they all just communicated, whether that be about the huge threat, their relationships, etc. Everyone go to therapy like the guy going for his anger problems lol

OH MY LORD I was grabbing my seat it was so damn thrilling! So now we have some upgrades (it feels like some Pokémon evolution lmao) but holy crap! Also, I was completely out of my mind when Mike and El sat together cuz THIS AIN'T THE TIME for god's sake

I'll finish this season but I don't think I watch another. I am already in full "I don't care" mode. Feels like a completely different show. Should have ended after S2. That was a perfect finish. Now it seems they are just milking their success.

Eleven should be off somewhere kicking some serious ass, but instead she continues to be little more than half of a lame adolescent romance. But hey, at least she got to do a number on a vending machine in this one. Honestly, it should be a crime to waste her character like this. Meanwhile, all of the other story lines are ramping up nicely, and it is good to see the larger team starting to gather itself together to some extent. At the same time, Team Steve continues to be awesome enough to operate on its own.

Doesn't the image of Robin at the top of this page look like an homage to Robin's real-life mom Uma Thurman in Kill Bill?
