I won´t say I didnt enjoy it, I did... but it didn´t blow my mind either.
Too much fanservirce and quite predictable, felt like a few secondary stories were just fillers that didn´t go anywere
Well, the first season was a wonderful surprise, with this one the expectations were high, so maybe that's why it was a little disappointing in the end. The 80's feel and nostalgia is still there, but that is getting so common these days with so many films and shows depending on that. I'll wait for the third season and see how it goes.
couldn't be bothered to finish 2x02. i think i stop watching this show here.. only done so because of peer pressure.
Stranger Things 2
Good, but not great.
Story was serviceable, but felt like a retread. One whole episode was unnecessary.
Some characters felt like they were thrown it for no reason.
Soundtrack and effects were top notch again.
Worth a watch for fans.
7/10

If my nose was bleeding, I would wipe it. Just say'n
steve, my boy, you deserved so much better than heartbreak
I can't believe it, but the second season is better than the first. And I gave the first a 10/10. The quality of the show is so high. Acting, pacing, the camera work... wow... just wow.
Just as well done as the first season I think. Some fans might not like how much this season is about relationships. I found all those scenes beautifully done though. I loved all the character additions too.
I was worried about this season after the really good first season. I'm now waiting for season 3!!
I don't want this to be over! :( Can't wait to the next season!
The creators took a great show and turned it into something amazing.
Phenomenal second season! The creators did a great job building up the characters while still focusing on the upside down. The events in the first season opened up a flood gate of questions and this season helped highlight and expand on the ramifications of their actions. Life cannot just go on as normal. There are consequences and it was great to see those portrayed realistically.
The introduction of Max I guess was inevitable considering their age and how eventually some of them will start dating. It will be interesting to see how their friendships survive in future seasons but I like how mature Dustin is watching his crush pair up with his best friend. Dustin and Steve's friendship is the best though and I hope they keep building that in future seasons.
The only episode I thought was a bomb was episode 7 Lost Sister. Unless they were using that as a tease to find interest in a spin-off, it was pointless. And if they wanted to show El's temptation to the dark side, we already saw that in season 1. If it's purpose was solely for another hairstyle change, there's MTV (for those that didn't grow up in the '80's, back then it really was Music Television). And please, in future seasons, please lose the slicked back '50's hairstyle for El...A Siouxie Sioux or Joan Jett hairstyle would look much better on her and would definitely hit the era more.
Over all, I want more please. :-)
This was terrible. First season was far better. 3/10.
This season is really intense. I just finished it not even an hour ago as I write this review. Gonna need to take a few days before getting into season 3. Holy crap!
If you liked season 1 it gets better! I like the character development in this season. The element of mystery stays strong :muscle:. Yeah, I can see why so many people rewatch this show .
Meh. Major step down from season one in my opinion.
While the character writing remained strong overall the less focused plotting and pacing of Stanger Things 2 ultimately left it weaker than its predecessor.
New season & some new faces, but still the same old charm, suspense & satisfaction we loved since the beginning ^^
Effectively builds on the lore while retaining most of what made the 1st season good.
idk if it's just me or it's bc i had high expectations coming from season 1 but i didn't enjoy this as much as i did in the previous season. i've skipped a lot of parts, especially the scenes between nancy and jonathan (i cant stand them together idk why, im sorry). also, i've felt frustrated all throughout, particularly, at the start to middle. the characters were frustrating to watch because of some of their actions are really dumb.
however, it did get interesting as the story goes (the most exciting parts were all toward the ending).
Before rewatching the entire series, this was my favorite season, not that I don't think it's better, in fact, for me, it's the season that best represents Stranger Things. The mix of investigative, paranormal and superhero-like vibe is what the show is all about. The script again well done and the performances perfect, Noah is amazing. The new characters are very well presented and worked, you get attached easily to Max and you get an immediate hatred for Billy. Comedy is also a high point this season. But compared to the first and third, it lags behind. El's episode with Kali is pretty boring but far from bad, besides that I had the impression that El's scenes with her mother were switched places and are kind of out of the episode in which they appear, but that's okay, it's still agonizing to know what they've been through. indeed, a great continuation of an amazing first season.
Really enjoyed season 2. Better pace, good character development and great effects. :thumbsup_tone1:
It's less of a mystery and more action and campy fun. Most of the horror sequences are solidly intense and had me on the edge of my seats (although I'm not too keen on some of the gratuitous jump scares towards the end). The whole season feels like one cohesive long movie, with wonderfully inspired editing and great visuals.
In terms of character development, it is good if a little uneven. Steve was pretty interesting in the first season, and is even better here; Jim Hopper is really likable even with bad parenting skills; Bob is just really wholesome. However, while I can accept Bob's death, the execution feels little soapy for me. As for the girls, while I appreciate the effort put on fleshing out the character of Eleven, her characterization still ends up murky and artificial. Max's character feels a liitle flat for me; we get teased about her being fierce and cool, but in the end all she did was tag along and be a love interest for the boys, and her problem with her family and her need to belong are mentioned without further exploration.
Overall, it's still a great season, and I'm looking forward to binging through the next season.
PS a minor gripe I had with the color grading: the excessive cyan-ish tone in the daylight exterior scenes really distracts me from focusing on the image.
What if...? In an alternative parallel world in the 1980s, Steven Spielberg directed a Stephen King written movie that was scored by John Carpenter and Tangerine Dream and Ridley Scott did the set design on it? That is "Stranger Things". Season two is even more predictable than the first one, but it's still well written and acted even when it is at least three episodes too long.
New mysteries and horrors await the town of Hawkins in the second season of Stranger Things. It’s been several months since Will Byers’ return, but he still has visions of the Upside Down and a mysterious root system has been growing throughout the town killing off vegetation; meanwhile El runs off to find her mother and discovers that she has a sister who also has abilities. Once again the show does an excellent job at using the 1980s aesthetic and incorporating it into the story. And the soundtrack too is especially well-done. However, there are a few misfires with some of the story arcs for the new characters not really going anywhere. Also, there’s more gore and violence this season (a typical horror genre move). Season 2 of Stranger Things isn’t quite as strong as the first, but it continues to deliver exciting and chilling adventures.
With a rewatch, you can really notice how season 2 was slowly evolving in terms of tone: it's still dark and dramatic, but the more fun vibe that will go on to dominate season 3 is coming out here. Overall, it's a good season, maybe less effective than the first one but still a great ride, with a pretty cool evolution for many characters, some new great dynamics and an amazing second half. But yeah, episode 7 still sucks, even though I like its intentions and I think the beginning an the end of it are great. The execution of the middle part, though, is kinda lame.
Strange Things season 2 was a great season but the first one was better. I thing the main reason that season didn't achieve the level of the previous one was the filmes plots. Jonathan and Nancy were useless, Kali and her gang didn't do anything to me and Dustin was stupid with Dart. But on the other side, I think Will, Hopper and Steve gás the best characters arcs so far. Mike, Eleven, Lucas, Max and Joyce were fine too. The ator was good but I really thing the dragged a lit bit. Thor season should have Jean shorter. The soundtrack and the visual effects were superb. The season ended in high note and I can't wait to next season. July 4 here we go!!!!
The whole underground scenes reminded me of Crysis Core level. Everything is exactly the same, the environment, particles, spores, etc.
Whenever a new season starts in a series that had a complete arch in it's first season there is always audience impatience if it doesn't hit the same highs right off the bat. But don't make that mistake and miss the magic. It takes a few episodes to lay a new foundation, tease out of loose ends and build a framework for another great story. This did all that and gave us lots of joy in reuniting with the bedrock of this series - wonderful characters, well delivered. The story arch was great, the characters welcoming, the young talent just getting better and better, great new cast members. Altogether a great experience. I maintain my 10 (totally entertainment) out of 10 for this series, and, its already been renewed for a 3rd season and it's left us with some great loose ends to pick up.
Totally awesome the 1st season was great but this season just blew it away. deffo worth the watch ppl get watching :-)
It's just freaking unbelievable how the producers kept the views attention. While eleven was the center of the whole plot and the whole weird things happening at Hawkins city with Will gaining more and more importance. Some people are complaining with number 8 but I found quiet necessary to show us in the plot (why 11?, there was 10 kids before? 10 kids with similar power like 11? for me that was a bunch of pertinent questions). Even why the darkness arrived at Hawkins lil town and what was United States Department of Energy doing in the background. This whole plot reminds me clearly the 80's (loved a lot the 1st Terminator reference "showed the premiere at the Hawkins cinema, this just gave the right impression of 80's and when the plot happens). All stick together and from this point I've gave my 10/10 for this 2 season, pretty spectacular!! Sublime, super.
Can't wait to see what season3 will bring us even if I can't imagine what could happen from this point(when the season2 ends).
I'm freshly after watching the last episode of season 2 and damn it they did it again. I thought this TV Show can not be any better but I was mistaken. THIS is even better than first season itself. I just don't know how to put this in words. Every detail of this masterpiece was polished to the max level. I hope the next season will be even better than this. See you in the next adventures in this strange world of Stranger Things!
Just finished Beyond Stranger Things (the talkshow after the season) and I really enjoyed it. Netflix did a good job with that and now I want to see similar shows for other Netflix originals.
It's a slow burner and episode 7 is atrocious in spite of its good intentions, but overall it's almost as good as season one, even though it's even more derivative and predictable: the cast is still amazing, the characters are still adorable and it's nice that it gives more time to the ones that had less space in season one.
Oh man, I didn't think they could do better than Season 1 but surprise surprise! I loved it so much. If I'd comment on everything it would be really long so I'm gonna say what is impossible not to praise. These actors are insanelly good, I mean, Wynona is at her best here, David just always have the ability to make me cry and I simply love that they chose to introduce a dynamic with him and El. The kids are out of this world especially Millie, Finn and Noah and last but seriously not least I LOVE STEVE SO MUCH! A+ character development. He's become one of my favorites

Another excellent season. I loved most of the character interactions. New team ups especially Dustin and Steve are the best. I feel like 008 was a waste. Having another with powers and only use them to have Eleven realize she has to go home didn't seem like a good use of someone with powers. Maybe 8 will make her way to Hawkins soon. Also Billy and Max were kinda not used. Max was alright but she seems like a love interest and Billy was just the racist trying to stop here sister. Hopefully they will have more to do next season.
