New Visions, same problems. The art and animation are great, but the story and dialogue are bad. No real care is given to the lore (no one just walks away from being Sith; it isn't a social club) and the characterizations are one- dimensional. Everything exists in service to the concept of "what if Star Wars was a surrealist painting?", which makes for interesting spectacle and dull storytelling. Also, if the visuals are the point, why are the fights just afterthoughts? There was no real goal here beyond pretty colors.
The gorgeous animation carries this one. Story was kind of, huh? But brilliant to look at.
Absolutely love the art style of this one. Story could've had a bit more work but animation, music and voice acting were on point.
The animation style is beautiful, but the story very generic. However, for this type of short, I'm satisfied with "Style over Substance". "Sith" is a solid start to the second season of Star Wars Visions overall.
I liked it. visually stunning, simple story to deliver a great and old concept, we're all a mix of things, not just light or dark. good start
Beautiful and a nice little vignette. This studio did great at setting a solid benchmark for the rest of the studios for this season!
[7.8/10] I really liked this one. This is going to sound weird, and probably unfair to a product with much more artistry, but the visual style reminded me a bit of Beast Wars/Beast Machines. It’s something about the moments.
Regardless, I like the artwork and theme of this one. The notion of “the darkness being part of the painting” has an Inside Out-esque takeaway that negative emotions don’t have to be avoided; they can be embraced and made a part of something beautiful. Using a force-sensitive person who's trying to make art and struggling with what they produce drives that metaphor home nicely.
I love that our protagonist is a former Sith who’s trying to walk a different path. You don’t get a lot of that in canon, so it's neat to see it played out in vignette form.
The designs and visuals are also cool. While the protagonist’s design is a little generic (she’s reminiscent of Leela from Futurama), I love the little crab/ball droid, and the Siths who approach her are scary and severe as all hell.
The kinetic motion of the chase in her marvelous spinning wheel, and the ensuing lightsaber battle with impressionistic realizations of the Force and the clash of wills really stands out. In season 1, many of these shorts lived on the backs of their visuals as much as any story, and the neat imagery of art and combat carries the day here as well.
Overall, a strong opening to the new season of Visions, with a nice artistic approach and sense of spirit to elevate the installment.
Visually stunning, and I like the theme of accepting the darkness within yourself and life instead of erasing it. I think it would’ve been more interesting if her conclusion at the end as the Sith Master is to redefine what a Sith is and means, but I understand you can only challenge the black and white of Star Wars so far. It’s an artistic feast for the eyes.
Emotional Support Droideka.
(Two words.)
Really like the style of animation but even though I do concede you can't expect epic storytelling from a 15 min episode, it was rather thin on that side.
Good start to the new series but for some reason the characters don't merge with the art style. The outfits do. But the actual characters look different from the rest. It's like it's too smooth. Apart from that I really like the story of a sith apprentice forging her own path
I'm so confused, should I watch this in english or spanish?

Sabine Wren would be a huge fan of this episode.
The colors match the tone/mood of the main character. The creators just took paint, and made it beautiful. Eye catching, so much detail, I probably missed something.
