That's a lot of efford for getting out two pilots. At least we know they will stick around for a long time. And nice move from Kallus. Shows he's after all an honerable man.
Parts of this took me right back to playing TIE Fighter.
Which reminds me, I need to replay TIE Fighter.
A nice solo mission for Sabine.
Looks like the empire is quite familiar with the Ghost by now given that they even have it in thier simulation.
"Are you serious?"
"Welcome to the rebellion."
I'm surprised that they didn't expect that their fighters would be rigged but I guess they underestimated that new lady/officer.
"My clan taught me better."
"That's cute."
"Don't shoot." - Yay, I hoped that Kallus would do something (maybe even join them) but I didn't really expect it to happen. This was such a nice moment! "Tell Zeb we're even." I hope this won't be his last good deed though.
PS: That was quite some effort for two new pilots though! Especially considering how fast they loose them... :o And RIP third pilot - he had no chance :(

7.4/10. I have to admit, I'm getting a little tired of the cameos in Rebels. Sure, it's neat seeing folks from the original trilogy or The Clone Wars, but by the time you're throwing out good ol' Wedge Antilles as the guest of the week, maybe it's time to pull back the throttle on the fan service. (I look forward to the next episode when we will, no doubt, see a young Porkins enjoying his first bite of meiloorun fruit.) But despite that, this was a fairly solid episode. The show nodded to the fact that it was kind of repeating itself from the time Ezra infiltrated an Empire Academy posing as a cadet back in Season 1, but the whole double agent bit is still entertaining.
And we also got a lot of nice dogfighting action. Seeing Wedge race through the citrus-colored clouds around the purple-hued Empire facility made for some striking images, and the zooming tie-fighters were an enjoyable whirl of quick-flying action. A good chunk of the episode felt a little rushed -- seems like we went from Sabine's infiltration to gaining Wedge's trust to getting found out to escaping for good rather quickly. Still, the beats were nice, and included fun, if kind of cheesy stuff like the "it was all just a simulation" fake out, the flight instructor being the one to try to hunt them down, Sabine and General Price helping the show pass the Bechdel Battle Test, and Agent Kallus briefly collaborating and telling Sabine to let Zeb know they're even now.
Overall, there's some good story points that are strung together, even if they're underdeveloped (that goes double for Ezra's impatience and learning to sit back when there's nothing he can do) but some very nice visuals and a pleasant little escape story make this one firmly entertaining, if not necessarily the show firing on all cylinders.
