Could Strange New Worlds get any better? Somehow it can... in Season 2!
Didn't expect this season to be better than the first, but damn! They knocked it out the park.
This season was fantastic! Even the crossover and the musical episode - both were surprisingly great.
This season is truly a balm on my chafed soul
season 2 was a huge disappointment. Very poor writing ... only to be saved by episode 10. That was worthy of star trek. If the serires continues, it needs more writing like that. The other story lines were garbage. Not the fault of the actors, the crappy season is rests completely on the sholders of the writers.
Overall unfortunately a much weaker season the the first one. I appreciate that they try various genres, but I'd prefer a more consistent story-telling, not one-off experiments. Unfortunately there weren't even real highlights in this episode that balance out the really bad episodes.
Anyway, I still like the crew, so I'll keep watching. But I really hope for more consistency going forward.

I don’t know if we have seen the same thing because the praise is high for a season that I is so poorly written.
I like this series very much and I love the characters… but the stories in season 2 are mostly bad to awful and I’m so sorry for that great crew to handle such boring, pointless episodes. Which are very stationary for a “five year mission to explore strange new worlds”,. Episode 2.7 was one of the worst and out of place Star Trek episodes across the entire franchise. Overacting and unlikeable guest characters who affected the entire crew.
Season 1 had some really boring episodes, but there were also strong ones. Season 2 has not much to offer except a great crew. I have yet to see episodes 9 and 10, but so far it’s not looking good.
Please, explore, show me a vast universe.
Stop to deconstruct Spock in such emotional ways, it hurts that character so much.
Please write science fiction. I like the character development, but they can develop outside the ship and on real missions as well.
Please give this awesome crew something to do!!
You can rant on a series that produces 24 episodes a year. But here we got ten, so don’t waste them.
