I find much of the arguments put forth in this episode about dealing with alcoholism pretty reasonable.
The conclusive scene between Stan and Randy rings a lot of bells; I used to drink too much, every single night, for years, like Randy. But I wasn’t an ‘alcoholic’ and didn’t have a disease. And I certainly didn’t submit helplessly to a higher power. With time and effort (and yes, even :asterisk_symbol::asterisk_symbol:discipline:asterisk_symbol::asterisk_symbol:) I am now able to have a glass of wine with a meal and not finish the bottle, or have a pint, or two without needing to carry on.
No boasting, judgement or smuggery - just saying me & Stan are in agreement totally today: cancer is a disease, not alcoholism.
