Stan's schtick with John Edwards hit a nice melding of the comedy when a straight man has to deal with idiots and also some legitimate criticisms of charlatans like Edwards without feeling too preachy. The Rob Schneider stuff was shoehorned but hilarious, and the visit to Chef's Parents was quite funny as well. The pièce de résistance, however, was Edwards actually being abducted (first class) and winning the biggest douche in the universe award. Classic South Park greatness.
