Now that the characters are settling into their roles, this is getting even better. I was very impressed with this episode.
When she isn't denying her experiences, I very much enjoy Lt. Mills. Nicole Beharie does a very good job with the character. I feel like the character was written a little poorly the first couple episodes over doing the denial aspects. The level of denial is now down to where it should have been all along. I feel like and good cop, especially one that was going to work fornthe FBI, would trust in the evidence and put their personal beliefs on the back burner. Granted this is a fairly extreme set of circumstances, but the outright denial was a bit extreme. Now she has a healthy skepticism which is appropriate considering the surreal circumstances and evidence to support the fantastical situation.
I loved that they brought in Pestilence so early instead of waiting a season or two. Forcing the plot progression is a good thing in most cases. I had thought maybe there was more time travel magic linking Roanoke with the present day, but I was happy to see that it was some other magic allowing the dead to return to the world of the living.
