Out of all the TV shows i saw this year, this is among the more interesting ones, at least in concept. Not as much in execution since it tends to go on for a bit too long at times, as if some episodes feel like they can be skipped without consequence after finishing them.
Silo explores another post apocalyptic society surviving in an enclosed space. Their struggles and secrets, laws and traditions, and how people cope with wondering exactly what’s beyond the Silo. But unlike those other series such as 2023’s, Heavenly Delusion, i’m not likely to watch a 2nd season of this because i’m not sure i was given enough to chew on as motivation to return for more.
I love the look and feel of Silo, and dystopian future sci-fi is my favorite genre. A couple of episodes seemed a little shaky but still the threads in the season come together for a powerful and tense season finale (ultimately set up in ep 9).
Totally ninja.
The first two episodes were amazing. The last episode was great. The rest were fairly middling. It went from being a sci-fi set in a fascinating and dark world, to a crime procedural, to a "cat and mouse" game between Judicial and the Sheriff, back to being a sci-fi. I hope season 2 gives us more sci-fi and world building.
I'm a long-time fan of the book series and always wondered how it would look like if they made them into a movie or series since the books focus a lot on the struggle and emotions of Juliette, especially considering that moving through the silo requires climbing lots of stairs.
They did a good job in this adaptation though, maybe because Hugh Howey, the author, is one of the executive producers.
I saw the other comments saying it's slow. Well, that's the main point of the world really. The whole idea is that due to how the silo is constructed, and because radio messages are forbidden, everything is slow. News, commerce, everything is handicapped by the stairs and the need to manually carry everything up and down.
Also, it seems they might actually pack all five books of this arc in this first season. So that gives you some perspective of the pace...
I gave up at episode 6, it started out really well with an intriguing premise, but it is incredibly slow and just not that interesting.
Solid show. It has the right amount of mystery to keep it entertaining. The story and it’s characters are great, but it gets a bit hard to believe at times. Also, fun to see the inhabitants of the Silo be obsessed by useless relics, like a Pez-dispenser. It ended the season good, but the twist that there are more silos was to be expected. It fits in the genre. Still, curious about season 2.
If you read the books definitely check this one out. It actually fleshes out some characters more in the show, which is rare. Loved this
Silo is an entertaining and well-made sci-fi adaptation from Apple TV. Like other Apple shows, the production design is really high quality, with the world not having the same sort of fakeness to it like you often see from Netflix or Disney. Rebecca Ferguson is a firebrand actress, constantly carrying any scene she’s in. In particular, the 3rd and 10th episodes really showcase her abilities. My criticism would be that at 10 episodes, parts of the season did feel a bit slow. With a lower episode count, this could have been very tight.
One of the best seasons of television I’ve ever watched in my life.
If you like Westworld, or Snowpiercer, or the Fallout universe… you’ll love this slow burn of a show. It’s both similar and nothing at all like the universes above!
Rebecca Ferguson carried this show(/season)
The great mystery, suspense and action made up for questionable science, physics, and often illogical decision making. A key theme is miscommunication, which I normally despise as a plot device. Specifically, withholding of information and refusal to listen to information. Some uses were understandable, others, require the viewer to look the other way. Great use of small, but catchable detail.
Great series, with an amazing storyline with loads of twists and turns and they arent what you think till it happens and the ending is superbly done i just hope they dont cancel it like seems to happen with many other shows recently
What a treat! This first season was very good and I really enjoyed it. A different view on a post apocalyptic world and with twists and turns. I did not really enjoy Common’s acting, which might be biased because it is both the character and acting that I found weird. I had not enjoyed him in something else either, so might be a general thing. Everyone else does a rather great job imho.
The motivations of everyone is not yet clear and I kind of wish that I had read the books before learning of this show.
Cannot wait for season 2!

What a welcome surprise this show turned out to be. I started it when it dropped but for some reason stopped watching for several weeks but once I started it again I became hooked almost immediately and binged the rest of the show. There's just something about the atmosphere that is so enjoyable and the slow burn is fantastic. I think the drab, dark, and dramatic atmosphere goes hand in hand with the slower pace and the show absolutely embraces its tone and doesn't let up, making for a really engaging watch. The world feels interesting and fleshed out, the characters are incredibly grounded, the performances are solid, the score is memorable and fits the atmosphere very well, and the story overall is full of so much intrigue and mystery that it begs you to keep coming back. It does take a pretty sharp turn a few episodes in when it switches lead characters, but Rebecca Ferguson is so great that you don't really care and they manage to bring things full circle by the finale so this season does still feel like a cohesive story. They managed to provide the proper amount of payoff and answers by the end to be satisfying but still leaving some things hanging and raising additional questions that make you want to come back next season. One of the best shows of the year so far and really elevated by that amazing atmosphere and tone.
8.3/10 -- Great

Started good and got really boring after a few episodes. It’s cleat that they’re not gonna show what’s outside in this season, but story doesn’t move right now.
