I can only say one word about this - Boop!
Great show and ending. Happy to hear it will have a season 2!
Derek is the best character on this show! As a therapist, I related to the train wrecks who were the main characters. Clinicians are clients too.
"What kind of person hugs and tells?"
Jimmy and Alice's conclusion was fantastic.
Jimmy’s wedding speech was terrible. He made it all about himself and barely mentioned the couple getting married. Another huge example of Jimmy being selfish: packing up all of his wife’s stuff without asking their daughter if she wanted to keep any of it. I know he ‘fixed’ this problem later by putting all the boxes in her room but he wouldn’t have had to correct that mistake if he had remembered that his daughter might have feelings.
All in all, the show is fine but not funny, it definitely is more drama to me.
I had been feeling a little underwhelmed by the last couple episodes of this show in that it felt to be meandering a bit, but this finale brought me right back in and really ended things on a strong note. You really see the progression of the characters and all of their arcs are brought to a satisfying place here, including Jimmy, Paul, Alice, Liz, and others. They brought things full circle with Jimmy especially focusing in on how he's grown since the start of the season regarding the death of his wife, making his entire character journey feel well-executed. Great moments all around for all of the other characters as well that I mentioned above. Special shoutout to Liz as I wasn't expecting her to show the growth that she did in this episode. Overall this finale perfectly encapsulated what I love about this show and is one of the best episodes of the season.
I really liked the first season. It definitely has Cougar Town vibes which is not surprising, considering it’s from the same creator. The finale was nice but nothing to write home about either. The ending was also really predictable. Still a good episode and I‘m looking forward to Season 2.
So? Alice is bipolar right? She loves or hates her dad every other episode
The season ended far better for everyone than when it began. As a result, I wonder where the show can go for future seasons
I really enjoyed this. I agree with some commenters in the previous episodes that the rhythm is a little bit off, but I feel that's their way to revamp the sitcom genre to modern day and pace, and I think it works out, and it is funny enough, sad enough and "woke" enough without being too force. I also loved seeing Ted McGinley, who's forever will be the hot neighbor from "Married with Children" for me (THAT old I am, yep), so his bits were fantastic for me and I hope we'll see more of his retirement adventures in Season 2 (please make it be a season 2). Loved the cliffhanger (pan intended) in the end too. Also, every bit of TV or Film that puts "Modern Love" in the soundtrack always gets bonus points from me for the goosebumps this song gives me.
What a great ride it was, a bit like a good therapy session, just hurtful and crack-opening enough to be healthy.
what the fuck was that jarring ending? what is this show going for? seems like a cliffhanger for the sake of a cliffhanger
Really enjoyed how this show gradually evolved into a hangout show. The entire cast is great, but it was especially hilarious to hear Harrison Ford repeatedly say "raw dog" in this episode.
This is a decent show, but I absolutely hated Liz, what an unlikeable character. My favourite character was played by Harrison Ford; really great comedic timing on his part.
Decision to Leave, should have been taken
