This show is truly for the girls, gays, and theys. Love it so much
OKAY, BEST CARTOON EVER. Kids will love it, and so much more people. This is for all ages, like, hell yeah i'm 21 and this thing changed me, taught me a lot of stuff, believe it or not.
And IT'S FUNNY!!! I LAUGH SO MUCH EVERY TIME I WATCH THIS SHOW, SERIOUSLY! It's incredible... and magical.
AND OF COURSE, thanks NOELLE FOR THE GAY RIGHTS!!! The representation on this show it's unbelievable (in a good way, of course).
Yeah, i love SPOP, there's no way i'll ever find a good show like this again.
"Hey, Adora..." Catra's voice
A fresh, innovative show that shows everything a reboot should be. It doesn't rehash its source material, but redefines it, and in the process, eclipses it. In every way, it is adapted for today, with a diverse cast, sharp writing, and emotional and passionate writing. So many kids will watch this and be not only engrossed, but seen. It'll always be dear to my heart.
I don't know how to describe how this show made me feel. I definitely have other shows that I prefer but this show made me cry the most. This show really moved me, again and again. It really got me to feel things. So as much as I say this isn't my favorite show, I can't help but keep a special, special place in my heart for this show anyways
Although not everything feels earned, "She-Ra and the Princesses of Power" is still one of the best animated series to ever grace our screens. Its ephemeral beauty shines like a beacon against the darkness that reminds us that we are never strong alone. With our friends, we can do anything, and I think that's one of the best messages it could ever leave us. "We're gonna win in the end!" Yes, they did, and it was glorious.
SCORE: 7/10
I love this show with all my heart
As an adult who grew up with no representation whatsoever I just want to say that: THE GAYS WON.
Finally finished this show. I followed it from around the time there were 3 seasons then took a break in season 5.
This is a fun remake of He-Man with new spins on old characters but I'm not familiar with that. My favourite character was Catra. I liked the princesses except Glimmer and I felt like Netosssa and Spinerella were the arguably weakest developed princesses with no story arc until the end of the final season. So boring and their powers are boring. Each princess has their own struggles and overcomes them together with friends. The drama never felt overbearing or unbelievable.
I think that Hordak was a sufficient villain and that we didn't need horde prime. The addition of other words and dimensions...and the end arc of "hacking" may have been too much. The first one technology could defend itself from external threats and that story arc could continue without horde prime.
The show is so cute and the art style is consistent cute and fun. Lots of sound effects really bring the show together. Unfortunately the final season really fails in art style. Some new things come up, like characters sweating. I'm not sure what happened towards the end of this series but the st quality definitely drops.
Worth a watch, didnt even feel like 5 seasons.
It's a pretty fun show. I'm sure kids would love it. I'm usually a fan of goofy cartoons, so I might be biased, but the world has a lot of charm and the characters are funny. I think it also did the villains really well. Its got a bit of "friendship saves the day" going, but if you are into the modern top cartoons or want something for your kids that won't turn to their brains to goo, this is a great pick.
As an adult male, is it strange to want more episodes?
This was freaking FANTASTIC! Hilarious, great action, fun magic, a huge universe backstory, and so much amazing friendship! I think Netossa and Spinerella were a couple and it's too bad we didn't get to see more of them before the final season 1 episode! It was so funny when Swift Wind started talking like that! There are parts of this season that feel a little like Steven Universe or Avatar: The Last Airbender but I think that's more because these are all Hero's Journey stories with Found Families rather than because of an overt copying of ideas. 10 stars!
i made a long review point out everything i love about this show, how it is amazing and progressive, and it isn't afraid to be what it is and how it is, but apparently there was some sort of error with trakt.tv =( . in short: i love how bold it became and how the message is always so very clear: nobody needs to be alone, nobody should be alone, only together we can take care of each other and the earth we live in. the magic lies in this: love is for everybody. and there are so many kinds of love, so many ways to express it, even romantically speaking. ecossocialism, broad antisfascism (there is no other way) and shared love for everyone and everything around us -- this is the way to a bright future. othersire, and i quote lord prime, there is no future.
i am so happy with this show, so proud of its trajectory from the beginning -- somewhat sillier and less bold, without climaxes -- to these super bold last seasons. i love everything about it, how progressive it is, how it is not afraid of showing that love is for everyone, that we should take care of each other and of the earth we live in. i'm not much of a redemption arcs fan, but i am living for catra's and shadoweaver's final arcs, truly the two most complex characters (in my humble opinion, but i do love a good villain). i love how yes, we've got excellent lbgt+ characters and how they subvert the roles in other ht relationships, but not everybody need to be romantically involved. love is for everyone, but there's also so many kinds of love. i love that the idea of legacy only makes sense if it is the best for everyone, is not something to be mindlessly passed on without any consideration for the individual's subjectivity. i love that everything is really feminin in such an honest, unique and proud way. maybe every boy felt this much affection for their favorite tv shows when they were little, and it is so good to feel the same way. i love how nuanced and direct it can be at the same time, it is ecossocialist and antifascist in a very broad sense (i mean, with every kind of fascism there is, be it with direct politics, with religion, with love, with aesthetics -- everything). i loooove the trace, the design, the aesthetics' conception for this. i love how all the time it is about friendship, about being true to yourself, even if that hurst because you're still finding out who you are, about family and how the idea of it can be expanded to new people in your life. i mean, in the end, it is always building up to this idea of community, showing us that together we can achieve whatever it is, no matter how hard. nobody needs to be a hero alone. nobody has to be alone.
Why does She-ra look like a guy? I really hope this doesn't disappoint.
Welcome to the panderverse. They put a chick in it, made her gay, and lame af. It was very bad from story, drawing, and etc. They prob hope pandering gets it through the bad writing. Looks like it worked for many people. I am now thinking I could do this with 0 experience. All I need is a group of people to exploit
