It's time for a heist !!
Nina and Matthias seem to be the only couple with even a bit of chemistry (even if so far it's only coming out as snark towards the other).
I'm trying really hard to stop comparing the show to the books, cause that's just not fun for anyone. And at times, namely when nothing relating to the Darkling is happening, I actually manage it. But then, he's like "call me Aleksander" in front of the servants and ruins the whole thing.
No! The Darkling is supposed to be a man of myth. A man of mystery. Of whispered legends. Darkness and shadows. Someone whose name strikes fear in the heart of his enemies. Not freaking General Aleksander Kirigan. I hate that so much.
The two main characters are so annoying and selfish. All they do is whine and run after each other, not caring who else gets hurt. It's never good to be this obsessed with another person. At least the other characters better balanced. The grisha seem quite useless and easy to kill so I don't really see the point of making such a fuss around them.
rewatching before the 2nd season drops and i'll just say this once: I LOVE MAL!!!!!!
I love Nina and I can’t wait for that dude to die so she can go and be gay.
Oh no, I actually really liked Mal’s friends, they were good loyal friends! I hate it when they off people like that, like fearless and loyal :( and all for a damn deer and for damn Alina. Like I know they miss each other and are desperate BUT from what they just showed, they constantly spend periods of time away from each other, so this is just like that, and now if Alina becomes as powerful as the general she can hook him up with a better job, their newly found obsession with each other is destroying them and keeping them from thriving! No but for real it’s getting annoying. And also it doesn’t occur to Alina that maybe he can write her back because he’s busy at war or something? A very dramatic girlie.
And I thought this was supposed to be Netflix’s GoT but oh god this is more like in the Shadowhunters level, I didn’t know anything about the series when I started watching and I had high expectations but every episode I can’t stop from laughing, I feel so bad! This would’ve rocked back in the twilight era, next with tvd, divergent, the mortal instruments, but the adaptation isn’t great for 2021, the way Alina acts feels so outdated, the actress is lovely and very talented and she nails the mannerisms of the brunette shy unpopular girl that ends up being the most powerful beautiful essential girlie in the whole universe, but we are over that era. You know what, I’m not even complaining cause it’s a good throwback and it’s enjoyable and funny!
And of course the main guy finds the fairytale stag nobody believes in or has ever seen just like that, zero effort whatsoever.
RIP Mal's friends:sob: i surprisingly really like them but they can't come to the phone right now, cause they're dead
Ah, of course the letters aren't going through. Typical plot, called that. I didn't think they ever will, before they meet each other again, fated in some way or other.
That relationship between Jesper and Milo is so heartwarming. I really hope the barmaid doesn't decide to uhm... use Milo in other, very short-lived ways :sob: this is way too sweet.
I also love how this little party of theirs got together. We have the three... let's call them scoundrels, who've been a team in forever as it seems, but now they're with this very ... well, sciency, scientist, who's all about accuracy and the mathematics and physics of things, order all in all, while they're all kind of chaotic in their ways. I love that.
Damn, that ending was unfortunate :o If only Alina and Malyen could communicate with each other.

The Darkling and Alina are the most boring characters. Their chemistry and storyline feels so forced and uninspired.
Anytime the storyline changes to Mal's, Inej/Kaz/Jesper's, or Nina's, I'm suddenly interested again lol
