This is the 2018 YouTube Rewind of Netflix originals (derogatory)
What a terrible way to end the show... that last episode was just so jampacked with stories cut too short.
Missed a lot of really important plot points.
This season was fine. Definitely the weakest of the 4 seasons, but still enjoyable. Ruby, Adam, and Michael ended up being the best and most interesting characters these last 2 seasons - something I never saw coming.
What a horrible way to end the show which started out so promising.
I suggest not watching this at all and considering S3 to be the end of the show.
Season 4 improves on the series but takes the lessons learned from S3 really well. My main issues with S3 were the multitude of characters all getting prominent screen time and their stories taking center stage too much that ended up making the time for Maeve, Otis, and Eric shortened. There were also some silly plot points that didn't amount to much. S4 improves by taking just the (dare I say) interesting characters from Moorsdale to the new school that's way more open and accessible about sex, gender and identity. I appreciated that the new characters felt more like additions to existing characters' stories rather than making new stories that would crowd up the season. Plus, I feel like I've seen these character evolve. They already addressed certain issues for each character earlier, now this season allows each character to serve as an example for other issues one might face in their adolescence or young adulthood. I really appreciated Jackson's new role dealing with anxiety and health, Eric dealing with merging faith and family with his sexuality, and Cal's continued exploration of gender and body dysmorphia with people like Aisha and Romeo assisting. The season is the last, and so we know it has to close up the main story and can't leave anything loose. I feel like episode 7 did the heavy lifting for most of the storylines so that episode 8 could focus on cleaning up and ending the new storylines presented in this season. Overall, S4 did a good job of keeping up the qualities that make this series heartfelt, eye-opening, and educational. Definitely a good watch.
This season was the weakest, but still great. The new characters were quite unnecessary, there was already enough diversity, although they were probably important to Eric's story, but they didn't need to be there that much. The plot could have taken place more around the characters we already know. God didn't have to be there at all, Eric shouldn't do drugs, I was waiting for him to take off in the Tardis. But otherwise it was great. I hope there will be another season in about twenty years. Even though I probably won't be here anymore... Actually, it would be nice if nobody was here anymore.
One of the appeals of Sex Education is how it merges the current world with the aesthetics of the 1980s, giving it a timeless and John Hughes’s movies vibe. Season 4, however, is set in a modern school, in a sort of utopia where everyone acts correctly all the time and if someone is cancelled all they have to do is apologise, so the 80s aesthetic feels off.
While it expands its LGBTQIA+ characters, they come off as unauthentic and boring, sometimes only to separate the existing characters or to plotlines similar to previous seasons. Even their outrage over society problems comes off as fake.
The only good storyline worth watching was the development of Adam and Michael relationship.
It’s a sad closure to an otherwise great series.
Otis is really annoying in this season. He's a sh*t friend, sh*t boyfriend, sh*t ex, sh*t son and the list goes on.
It's too much for the last season. Too much PC, too many new characters, too many matters.
Happy with the closing of the series and the message of each character, happy that there is no "happy ending" but rather the continuity of life's adversities and new beginnings. Each character ended up finding their own vocation, path, identity and healing. Great job.
I’ve really enjoyed this show over the years. It’s funny, entertaining and sex positive. Each season, the show addressed important topics in the realm of sex and relationships. They gave voice to those in marginalized groups. Not only did I have fun watching the show, but I also learned a lot. I came to love many of the characters for their flaws as much as their strengths. The moral of the story was to speak your truth, let others know how you feel- that’s the key to great relationships and understanding in the world.
If you are going to complain about how it's too inclusive and too many "lgbthdtv" characters then 1. this show has been gay from the beginning 2. this inclusion wasn't meant for you, it was meant for others.
while it was a bold step to include a lot of diversity (like beyond what already existed), it was handled in such a great way and I believe that the directors were able to use the big platform of the show to show marginalized groups (disabled, POC, queer) that they do matter and their opinions matter. while Cavendish college is very very fake the problems that the students face are real and handled in a fantastic manner.
on the ending, people who think Maeve and Otis should have ended up together dont understand the maturity required for relationships, Otis has shown over the course of the show that he is immature and Maeve isn't someone who is going to be able to fix that for him. Maeve has grown so so much over the show and is an inspiration and it's great to see her moving forward to achieving her dreams, as all young people should strive to do.
this show has grown up with me, from watching on my phone so that my parents wouldn't see when I was 15 to now watching it as a university student, the characters have changed for better and for worse and so have I and I couldn't think of any better way to end it <3
What are you supposed to say about this season? Representation matters, ooo rah? The color scheme makes me want to heave. Is this like a trap for religious institutions trying to sneak in the pie-in-the-sky inclusive narrative under the bigoted ignorance? The kids will catch this and slowly mold the heart of their leaders?
The Season 3 it was felt that it stretched the plots too much, losing part of the freshness of the first seasons, but Season 4 is an unnecessary continuation, with separate plots to fit with the agenda of the actors who have proven that they have more professional experience than this series, like Emma McKey and Connor Swindells. Even the final of S3 is better closed than that of S4, and in terms of the main romantic plot, not very different. Maeve's comings and goings from the United States are forced, but the story maintains a broad view of youth, although at times it seems like a diversity checklist. Seeing almost thirty-year-old actors playing seventeen-year-old boys is also creepy.
I might’ve made a mistake by not watching a recap of the last seasons and procrastinating until i finally got around to watching S4 but, this season felt so strange. Even without watching them, it feels like an unfocused and clumsy season finale to an otherwise fantastic show that i remember heavily enjoying.
I guess if i ever rewatched Sex Education i need to skip S4 and remove its stain on a good series.
Piece of shit completely pissed all over my emotional investment of the past 4 years, a random ass christian propaganda bullshit and they just completely removed Jakob, Ola and tons of important characters to add 500 queer ones. The downfall from Season 1 a masterpiece to Season 4 a shining big turd needs to be studied in art schools. And literally the worst endings of any 'will they won't they' media I have seen
Wow, it’s amazing how they killed the show on 4th season..
my god this is so woke
An okay final season for the show. I think it focused a bit much on all of these new characters and it took away from some of the main characters, which is an odd choice in a final season. I just wanted more from some characters. But what we did get from our main characters was pretty good. Not my favorite season of the show at all, but not awful.
5.8/10 -- Decent

Mid. They changed Otis too much just to fit the narrative
woke af. netflix original gay shit
This season is... fine. I think they wanted to include many societal problems in 8 EPs. Some of them, feel rushed, but get the point across. Personally, in those, I'm just not interested. I just look forward to Adam and Michael and Ruby plots, although Jean is my forever favourite character of Sex Education.
Season 4 of Sex Education took it a bit too far for me. Didn’t enjoy it anymore and honestly I’m glad that this is officially done. I’m really over Otis and his stupid selfish behavior. His character annoyed the shit out of me in the end. It’s a shame, because this series started out great.
This season felt quite tedious to watch, the writing seemed a bit all over the place and the plots didn’t develop much.
A lot of mixed reviews about this final season. Some really dislike it but I personally really enjoyed this season. The way they wrapped it up feels very realistic. We have to remember that these are mostly teenagers around the age of 17-18 and for example Maeve going to America, not ending up with Otis, it's very realistic and much better than her sacrificing her future for a boy.
Adam and Michael Groff now hold a very special place in my heart. The way this story came sort of full circle was by far the best thing about this whole season for me.
Aimee, Adam and Eric carried this season for me.
Some parts did feel a bit rushed because they chose to focus on a lot of new characters which is a pity. This way Jackson didn't get enough time for a story that could have been very emotional if it was written with more screentime in mind. Same counts for Viv and Cal. But all in all I really enjoyed this season. It tackled some major things but kept it's lighthearted side to it. Well done.
As somebody else said, Ruby, Adam, and Michael all carried the season. Otis disappointed me this season and some of his conflicts with others like Maeve felt forced. I thought the new characters were okay, but I feel like they didn't belong in this last season. This should have honed in on the characters we already knew. I feel like one or two new characters would be fine, but they had like more than 5 new characters. Adam and Michael had a great storyline, and although I liked it, I really wish there were more scenes with them. It didn't feel as satisfying as it could have been looking back at it. Idk if it was the screen time or if it was just all the other things going on. Could have also been my bitterness I guess. Motis had no chemistry together since Season 1 IMO, so I think the ending was alright. The new school itself was also very weird. I was waiting for it to get criticsized a ton, but there was only one scene that felt good. It was then ruined when they started cheering. Like you students are also part of the problem lmao. Anyway, this season was a mess, but it was still enjoyable.
At Time of Review:
Season 4: High 7/10
Story and Characters: 7/10
Presentation: 8/10
Enjoyability: 8/10
fuck this, I loved it. I don't know about you guys, but I think it was so wholesome
If they were going to screw Ted Lasso then this is it. Waste of time.
These kids dish out sex advice like seasoned pros! I say this as a bad thing. Liked the part where nothing really ended, but disliked that the main characters ending was too rosy. Btw 17y me would go after Ruby the minute Maeve landed in the States.

If you're going in to this season expecting anything, you'll be disappointed.
