The much lauded early seasons of SNL are still regarded by some as the best shows by the best cast in all of TV, much less, SNL's history. This episode gives the reality that filling up a full hour (minus commercials) of network airtime was not easy even for the 'dream team' of the first cast.
This episode aired on Valentines Day in 1976 and was hosted by Young Frankenstein star Peter Boyle with musical guest Al Jarreau. To fill time, there were two films and what can only be called a 'favor' for some executive in the form of three young girls lip syncing and dancing to a song. Granted, it's cute, but like I said, the whole time I kept wondering, to whom are those girls related?
High point: Dueling Brandos
Lowpoint: Pretty much the rest of the ep. \
Watch it if you are watching the entire series to say you had, but if you are looking for classic sketches, other than Dueling Brandos, you can skip this one.
