[8.0/10] I laughed out loud a lot at this one, which is always a good sign. My favorite skit was the J.K. Simmons getting talked into a date with a sphinx. It had that low-key but weird energy that’s pretty much my favorite mode from Robot Chicken. But they also had him reprise his iconic role as J. Jonah Jameson not once but twice. Having April O’Neal suggest the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles deal with shootings was darkly transgressive, and J.J. obsessing over Spidey in a “you complete me” sort of way was a funny twist.
Speaking of dark humor, Captain Planet getting fed up with humanity’s pollution and going all biblical flood was a blackly comic turn in the skit. I got some solid laughs out of the guy doing punny spins on “for the watch” in Game of Thrones. The grown-up baby sun from Teletubbies was loopy but amusing. The Slender Man skit didn’t do much for me, but I got a kick out of the quick-hit laugh of The Vampire Diary skit. Likewise, the Legion sketch was over my head, but the woman trying to figure out which spy is her husband and which is a duplicate was worth a chuckle.

Overall, one of the funnier episodes this season.
