Riverdale is taking such a dark turns this season and I love it. The Stonewall Prep storyline at the beginning was good but the second part of this season and in particular this episode where so great! I really like how we saw Jug's story come to live, mixed in with how things went in reality. I did notice Betty leaving the printed pages EVERYWHERE and immediately thought 'well, this is going to backfire quickly'. I've spend the entire season loving to hate Mr. Honey and I'm actually sad to see him go. Especially now that they've made him a semi good guy (what's up with that though.. I mean he's been tormenting the students since the start, he even trashed Reggie's car.. he did so much nasty stuff but ended up doing it for the students???). I can't wait to see how this turns out and who is behind all these masks... And what is Charles' role in all of this? I'm still not buying the FBI good guy act he's got going on.
Sidenote; only in Riverdale does an FBI agent let his teenage brother and sister tag alone for an ongoing case, because clearly he has no co-workers and clearly he is the only FBI agent who cares about the murdertown Riverdale.
This last episode seems really promising!
This honestly was one of my favorite episodes. I stopped watching and now I am so excited again. Cannot wait to see what season 5 will bring!
Best episode of this season. I wonder why they didn't wrote and directed other episodes like this one? Bad to see season 4 end on this track. It was getting interesting, hope this story continues in season 5.
Oh, lmao, the yearbook being late actually became a plot point. That's funny. Still for the wrong reasons, but not fully inaccurate anymore.
What kind of college admissions would consider admitting someone months and months after the deadline, but contingent upon them writing another story? That makes no goddamn sense and is not something that actually happens.
Not to mention that writing a story about murdering your high school principal, and using actual names of yourself and your friends, is quite possibly the worst thing you could ever think of writing for college admissions.
Why would any of the characters care if Mr. Honey became Stonewall Prep headmaster? They all looked disconcerted at this news, but it literally doesn't affect them. None of them go to that school, and they're all graduating soon anyways. It could not possibly affect them less.
It still has never been explained why Charles, an FBI agent, is able to stay in a small and insignificant town, while having access to FBI resources, and spend all his time on these unimportant cases. None of this would ever be a concern of the federal government.
Also, it's not very important, but they elected Cheryl as school president in like Season 2, and haven't had an election since. That's not how school elections work - it's not like they get a 4-year term like the US president. She shouldn't still be president. The students at that school would have to be complete idiots to reelect someone like Cheryl. Actually, now that I say that... nah, makes perfect sense after all.
What is happening to this show! Riverdale has always been absurd. It is part of its charm in my opinion. But this season... I just felt like the writing was off. I can handle ridiculous. In fact, I think that if you can make a ridiculous story work, that is a true testament to your writing ability. But I felt like they had too much going on in this season. Many storylines got lost and others just didn't make sense. The season also felt disjointed. The first 16 episodes had some sort of common thread but that was gone entirely for the last few. The ideas all had promise, but putting them all together obviously didn't work.

Too bad that when the season was getting good again. They couldn’t finish due to the Coronavirus. Killers wearing masks of the Archie comic characters is creepy and actually ingenious.
