First episode is a little different that all the rest as most pilots are, lots of the characters are very different, Jerry and Beth are the same but summer, Rick and Morty are a lot different by episode 2. Good episode though.
i dont know how to feel about this show it doesn’t even have an introduction just straight into whatever they are even doing

I've avoided this show until now as the fandom are intolerable but willing to give it a shot. Not seeing the hype from this episode and really not understanding those who have rated it 9. I can only assume they're basing this on overall opinion of the show or the pressure to feel with the 'in' crowd of frothing over this show. There was nothing 'smart' about the humour, it's pretty one note and the constant burping was irritating. The last few minutes were completely inane.
I'll keep going to see if it gets better though.
in rewatching the pilot it actually is good but the first time i disliked it cause it went straight in
Morty: "Aw, man! I mean, you know, I-I don't want to shoot nobody!
Rick: "They're just robots, Morty. It's okay to shoot them. They're robots!"

Just watched it again.
I love the intro.
Definitely has the pilot "rough around the edges" feel to it. If I had started here, not sure I'd have become a fan. Rick is a a bit too much on the downer side - drunk, pessimistic, foul - without some of the joy (a strange word to use for it) he has in season 3. Not as over the top, "what the hell did I just watch" of later episodes.
yeah it’s a little rough around the edges. but you’ve gotta admit this episode has got some charm that’s irreplicable in the newer seasons
This series is epic and deserves many seasons!
Although its a bit rough in every aspect, I still have a soft spot for this pilot. It's not really anything special in terms of plot or character or even humor, but there's a strange sort of charm about it that makes it impossible for me to dislike. I love the way Rick is voice acted in this episode, really makes me miss this style compared to the later seasons.
2.5/10 - I gave this a go because some friends like it but it's not my taste. It has potential and can be kinda funny at times but overall it's just way too stupid and even disgusting at times. This isn't my kind of humor. I like the concept and the "scientist" aspect but the jokes would have to be much better.
It might get better but I guess I still won't have to give it another go.
